Outstanding Book
I had purchased classical mechanics book by A.P.French one year ago from a book shop. This book was fabulous. So after reading that book When I saw this book, I ordered it blindly. Fortunately this book does not disappoint me.

"Clear Print and Excellent Diagrams"
I recently received my books, and I must say I am highly satisfied with the purchase. The printing is very clear, making it easy to read without any strain. The diagrams are well-detailed and neatly visible, which adds great value to the content. The paper quality is also impressive and feels durable, especially considering the reasonable price. Overall, this book is worth the money and provides excellent quality in both printing and material.

A GREAT BOOK TO START ON OSCILLATIONS AND WAVES
THERE IS STUPENDOUS CLARITY IN THE TEXTBOOK . NO OTHER AUTHOR HAS WRITTEN WITH SUCH PERSPICUITY ON THE SUBJECT . I ADVICE TO GO TO THIS BOOK THOROUGHLY AND THEN READ BERKELEY PHYSICS COURSE VOL 3 - WAVES IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A COMMAND OVER THE SUBJECT OF OSCILLATIONS AND WAVES .

Greatly Recommended
Although dated and the print horrible, for a seeker the information furnished from the start to the end including exercises and examples, it is a consolidated though of the author and MIT which published this book over 60-years ago. For me, it was a pilgrimage into a subject that has consumed me and there is no end in sight. I strongly recommend that publishers take cognisance of my thought and make it a must in the personal library of students.

A Timeless Classic
A. P. French is a real Teacher, with a capital "T". This book is part of the MIT Introductory Physics series that has three other titles by the same outstanding author: "Newtonian Mechanics", "Special Relativity" and "An Introduction to Quantum Physics" (coauthored with E. F. Taylor, yes the Taylor of Wheeler and Taylor's "Spacetime Physics"). A set of books that combine clarity of exposition with historical notes on the development of physics. One might be put off by the fact this book is more than forty years old. Don't! This is a little gem of clarity and synthesis that stood the test of time. It actually goes to the roots of the physical principles of the oscillatory motion and does not give anything for granted. Yes, the main emphasis is on the oscillations of mechanical systems, but this is not necessarily a con. As a matter of fact, it helps the reader to develop a more intuitive view of the phenomena described while they can still be translated into other domain's by means of physical analogies. This book is a must have. One note on the publisher: be warned that the latest paperback editions by Norton look like xeroxes of the original book: the pictures with the gray background show bands and dithering as if they had been scanned at very low resolution with a cheap scanner. If you can, find a used copy of the old hardbound edition. The 'old days' quality is much much better than today's standard.

Highest recommendation
My first encounter with this book was when I was attending UNB. I took Light and sound for engineers. since then, I've repurchased this book probably 5 time. Every time I reads it, I get new ideas from it. My most recent paper is Forced Vibrations and Vibrations. Considering everything in the material universe is a wave, from string theory to the cosmos, you must read this title. Highly recommended.

Excelente libro
Me gustó mucho este libro aunque le hace falta ya una revisión de los nuevos temas que existen. Pero en general es muy bueno para un buen curso de vibraciones y ondas.
