The only issue I had was 2 missing screws, but honestly, I might have just dropped them somewhere in the room. To me, it looks more like a really nice dark brownish grey finish. I actually prefer it to what I was expecting because it matches my floors and other furniture better. I'm using it as a TV stand, so the size and amount of shelves is perfect, as it allows for my 2 main gaming systems, a blu ray player, a soundbar, a lamp and several decorative items. The mix of metal and wood make the piece as a whole seem solid and sturdy, but not overly heavy. I'm really happy with my purchase. The only thing I'd warn about is the color.
