KD Thumb Brace for CMC Osteoarthritis with Thumb Sleeve (Right Hand, Small)

I bought this brace for what I think is trigger finger. It does a great job stabilizing CMC joint. The rubber brace does have metal on the inside so you can mold it to your hand, which is nice. It also came with a one-size-fits-all compression sleeve, but as you see the photos, it’s entirely too big. I did order a size small because I do have a smaller hand and the compression sleeve just was not compressing anything. Overall I’d say it was a good buy, , it came with extra straps, a little carrying bag and compression sleeve. One thing I found odd was there was absolutely no directions, but it’s easy enough to figure out. It does seem to be modeled after the more expensive brace that you can find on here. Its helped me tremendously in regards to pain relief. I could tell a difference the first day I wore it. I was in excruciating pain and this brace helped minimize the pain. If you have trigger thumb or any CMC joint issues I highly suggest giving this brace a try.

By now I’m pretty sure I have ordered almost every brand of these type of braces. One of my biggest complaints about them was how rigid and painful they were to wear, especially in the thumb crease. These, on the other hand, are much more flexible and don’t hurt to wear. They give very good support even for someone like me that has a very pronounced joint deformity now. I can wear it all day long with no problems. My pain level goes from extreme without it, to almost none with it. And I can still use my hands like normal (like crocheting). I’ve been using it for almost 6 months now and it shows no signs of breaking down, and it’s very easy to clean. The only draw back for me is sizing, and this is no fault of the brace. My hand measures between 7.25”-7.75” depending on how much swelling for that day. I’m caught right in the middle of needing a small or a medium. Because of the price, I got both. Side note: the little glove they added is kind of laughable if you have smaller hands.

I bought the left thumb brace and it works perfect. I have arthritis and just had cortisone shot. Dr recommended a thumb brace from a place. 99.00. I checked Amazon and this brace looks almost the same as the 99.00 one. The price is under 30.00. It's very comfortable and works better than other ones. I liked it so much ordered the right one. Came today. Highly recommend this.

The rubber on the thumb brace is too thin, and the Velcro comes off often. The design of the brace is clever, but not adequate.

I purchased the KD Brace for about $29 on January 14, 2025. Expensive product, as it turned out. It is comforable to wear. Actually, I really like the product but the attention to detail or quality control is lacking, thereby making the product price out of line. Putting the sleeve on before the brace is much more comfortable. However, there is one single seam in the sleeve that's located in the saddle part of the thumb. On my sleeve this was held together with double stick tape. It fell about within four days. I had my wife sew it back together, the way it should have been done in the first place. Problem solved. I adjusted the brace after first putting it on and kept it that way until now (April 19, 2025). There is a thick metal band within the rubber brace that helps support the CMC. Mine just broke at the top edge of the palm side of the strap. I'm not sure how to fix this one, or why it would wear out. So, for me, this product lasted three months and five days. Purchase with the understanding that, at least for me, it cost about $10/month to use this product before I needed to shop for another one. UPDATE: I finally found the e-mail address for KD customer service. (It's [email protected], if you need it.) I wrote them on Sunday of this week and explained the issue I had. They wrote me back on Tuesday (two days later). They wanted to make this right as quickly as possible and told me they were expediting a replacement and that it would be shipped within 24 hours (on Wednesday.) On Thursday, (the next day) I received a new KD Brace. I've also read they take the information about issues like mine and use it to help improve their product. I couldn't be more pleased with their customer serice and their interest in making things right.

I have osteoarthritis in both CMC joints. My OT recommended hand braces for support, each one cost $129, and they eased the discomfort. That said, they were rigid and somewhat uncomfortable. I saw this product and ordered one for each hand. These braces are more flexible and much less confining. I use them at the gym and when doing physical tasks around the house. They are extremely comfortable and seem to be of similar quality to the more expensive braces. Highly recommend.
