Calcium Nitrate Fertilizer 15.5-0-0-2 Lb.

I spend a ton of time and effort every year growing my plants from seeds. I save every egg shell and for years have been putting them in my raised gardens for years to help with calcium.This year I tilled up some of my yard so I could plant more tomatoes. I didn't really prep the soil as well as I should have. I used fish fertilizer and epsom salt to add nutrients. I had beautiful plants with a ton of tomatoes.Once they started to ripen, I was horrified to see that the whole first batch was afflicted with blossom end rot. Because there is nothing I could do for the soil this year, I needed to save my plants.I bought this product and added it to my watering can per instructions. I made sure every plant was watered, then used the hose to made sure it soaked in.I have not had a bad tomato since. I will probably hit them all again when I fertilize next. This product saved the day!I plan to use all my egg shells in this new patch of land all winter and spring but will use this again next year at planting time because the eggshells take years to completely break down.This bag is small, but it goes a long way. Any plant that needs calcium can use this at planting just to make sure the plant has what it needs.

I purchased two plum trees this spring, and planted them the recommended 6 feet apart. Both are getting the same amount of sunshine and water. Within a couple of months, it was obvious that one was doing “poorly.” Check the internet for solutions, and the consensus is: calcium nitrateI returned to the store where I purchased them. They didn’t sell any calcium nitrate. Phoned a local nursery that had a more extensive selection of products, but likewise, they did not carry it. Finally, once again, it was Amazon to the rescue. A few keystrokes, and two days later, via Amazon Prime, and therefore free shipping, I had the bag on my doorstep.And the plum tree? The jury is still out, as they say in the legal profession. Noticed some dramatic improvement from a near-death experience, and now the “poorly” one is just holding its own. Applied to the healthy one also, and there was improvement there also. Before the jury returns its verdict, it will be (hopefully) with much greener and abundant leafs next spring. Excellent way to shop, quick delivery, and I guess I can’t knock the product if the tree does not survive. 4-stars.

Great supplement for my lettuce, cucumber and tomato hydroponic nutrients.

The shipping was quick with prime, but the product came in a standard household Ziploc bag with an adhesive label, which I thought was really odd, however the seller did provide a set of instructions. In use I've found that putting this product in a five gallon bucket with two air stones for a half hour really helps it dissolve, if you don't do this it sinks to the bottom and doesn't dissolve very well.
