Philips SHB5500BK/00 Wireless Bluetooth Headphone - Black

After trying a few different Bluetooth headphones I settled for these. They are a little plasticky but the sound they produce is pretty good, more of a natural sound rather than tons of bass. Other makes i tried either distorted at higher volumes or were very bassy, these beat the lot so I kept them and glad I did. I have other Phillips headphones and I love them all.After owning these for over a year things are not so rosy. Bluetooth headphones suffer from a major problem of drop out. Playing back from any device they will suddenly cut out and it's really annoying. I blamed my broadband provider for ages but then tried with a wired set and they work fine. Also the product that simulates the leather perishes and turns into tiny black crumbly pieces which get everywhere.

The item fits snuggly over the ears, does not block out all sound, but at this price point I did not expect it to.The sound quality is fine coming in, but the microphone quality is not great, but they can hear you ok, just tin sounding.I have paired them with my android phone, iPhone, iPad, nexus pad, PC laptop and Mac laptop with no problems.Not sure yet how long they last, but will find out soon.Do not use while driving!!!!!The price could have been cheaper as Curry's are selling them about £10 less than here (just checked again today online), if you have one within range of you or buy them online.They do not fold, but ear pieces do swivel round.At this price they are good at curry's price they are excellent.

I've managed to pick up those 50% off and for that kind of money, I can assure you you won't get anything better than these.Build quality is consistent with most mid tier wireless headphones (maybe slightly on the plastic side after longer consideration). Headphones sound great. High and low tones are balanced really well and I haven't experienced any unwanted noises yet. Headphones play loud enough to phase out any sounds from the outside, even on a busy London streets. Mind you though when you go all the way up with the volume, people around you will definitely will hear what's playing.Battery lasts as advertised around 9h which considering relatively small package is quite enough to satisfy most.Padding on the earpieces is soft enough and even though it doesn't go all around ear I haven't noticed any discomfort even after long sessions.Built in microphone works fine and I've had no complaints from people listening on the other side of the line.Standard control buttons are big enough to quickly learn their position and respond with significant clicks.I'm very happy with this purchase even though I'm not a fan of over ear headphones.

Comfortable, Good Sound, lightweight and simple to use. But I had a small problem with them; They present to a PC as two different Devices; "Headphones" - which is the A2DP connection for Music playback, which supports 44kHz 16bit CD Quality Audio, and then secondly as a Headset (different bluetooth profile, only supports 8000kHz "Telephone" quality Audio).You cannot use both devices concurrently, so if you want to use the microphone while using the headphones for playing back high quality audio, you cannot. In short, not useful as a gaming headset, but for Mobile phone use, or just listening to music on your PC without the Microphone, work very nicely indeed.

Super light and comfy. They fit snug on the ear but without pinching. I'm not an audiophile, but the sound is clear and with good bass. Certainly as good as the wired sets I've been using up to now. Also happy to report that they are pretty good where noise bleed is concerned. I work in a relatively quiet office and didn't want to annoy my colleagues.Pairing is as easy as your phone allows. It took me seconds. I've not yet tried out the mic for the purpose of making calls, as this was merely a bonus for me. The pause/play and volume controls mounted on the headset are very convenient, even it they are a bit loud when clicked. Still, unless you are constantly twiddling with the volume the whole time then this shouldn't be an issue. They work a charm for me and I'm seriously considering getting a second set for my wife.

Really like these headphones. In no way an audiophile, but they sound good enough for me. I use them in the gym & had no issues with them slipping. Can't comment on the phone feature as I've never used it for that.Only negative is when they run out of charge. There's no proper indication on low battery. You get a couple of beeps & they're dead in a couple of minutes. They do last a good length of time after a full charge though.

Very good for the money, nice and clear with good bass effect. Build quality is very good and feel like they should cost more.. For walking the dog they are ace and the battery lasts a good time. Managed to get distance before they dropped out which is great when doing house work. I sometimes get a bit of a duff sound that sounds like it is waterlogged but I think is down to poor MP3 file. Good qual MP3 files, no problem and as good as any wired headphone!!

Great headphones when I got them working!Worked instantly with my Nexus7 2012 however took a bit of tinkering and googling to get them working with windows 7 and a bluetooth dongle. If you need to get them working with win7 download some software called Bluesoleil (it's not free, sadly) and they work beautifully!If, like me, you forget you're connected to a pc by a cable and get up and down from your desk regularly then these are a must! No being yoinked back!
