Excellent secondary monitor after 7 months of daily use โ reliable, solid, and better than expected
January 2026 Update after 7 months of real-world use I originally bought this monitor as a secondary side display for static documents and reference material while doing my main work on a larger monitor. The nearly square size was exactly what I wanted, and since it was under $100, my expectations were modest. I also wasnโt even sure Iโd keep it. Seven months later, Iโm genuinely impressed. What I use it for โข Static documents and reference material โข Side-by-side multitasking with a larger main monitor โข Unlocking a computer that runs in clamshell mode Playing media Staying clam with Marine Aquarium running between tasks Touchscreen: unexpectedly useful I didnโt buy this monitor for the touchscreen and assumed it would be more of a novelty. In practice, it has become genuinely useful. When working with two monitors, there are moments when using a mouse feels inefficient, and simply reaching over and tapping the secondary screen is faster and more intuitive. It has been especially handy for unlocking a clamshell-mode computer, since the surprise on-screen keyboard appears when needed (!) and everything can be handled directly from this display. Motion, color, and real-world visuals (my limited but honest use case) Some people are understandably particular about resolution, motion smoothness, and color performance. My primary work on this monitor is static, but I do use it for one visually rich purpose: a marine aquarium screensaver. While Iโm working on my main monitor, I often keep the aquarium running on this display. The colors are lovely, shadows look real, the motion of the fish is smooth and natural, and the 3D depth effect looks surprisingly real for a screen this size. I can glance over at it while working and feel a bit more relaxed, then wake the monitor instantly with a touch or mouse click when I need it to return to work duties. This is my only use case involving motion and color, so I canโt speak broadly to gaming or video editing. What I can say is that for this kind of animated, colorful content, it looks beautiful and performs reliably. Build quality & reliability (this is where it really stands out) The price may be budget-friendly, but this monitor does not feel like a budget item. After seven months of heavy, real-world use, it functions exactly as it did on day one. It has never flickered, never blinked, never glitched, and never failed to wake up. Iโve never had to reseat cables, wiggle connections, or troubleshoot anything โ it simply works, every single time. In fact, it has been more reliable than the built-in screen on my Mac. That may sound surprising, but itโs true. It reminds me of a time when buying electronics came with the expectation that they would do exactly what the specifications promised โ consistently and without drama. This monitor does precisely that. About specs and controls Iโve seen some comments about resolution options or missing physical controls. My view is simple: if the published specs meet your needs, you can be confident this monitor will do exactly what those specs state โ and do it very well and very reliably. One minor downside The screen is glossy, so reflections can be noticeable depending on lighting. In my case, this was easily resolved by slightly adjusting the angle of the screen, which eliminated any distracting reflections during normal use. Bottom line As a secondary monitor, this has exceeded my expectations. It feels solid, dependable, and thoughtfully built. If I had room on my desk, I would absolutely buy a second one. โโโโโโโ- Initial review, June 2025 This company was unfamiliar to me, and the low price made me hesitantโbut the monitor works just fine. It does exactly what itโs supposed to do. As others have noted, it has a very glossy screen, and the power cord is hardwiredโboth true and worth considering, but I'm just using an extension cord and might buy basic anti-glare matte film. But what really stood out to me (in a bad way) were the written instructions. Theyโre filled with language errors to the point of being difficult to understand. I don't mean bad writing like bad technical writing that we often experience, I mean that the use of English is deplorable. To the manufacturer: This matters. Clear directions communicate attention to detail and respect for your customers. Itโs not difficult to run a basic translation through Google and have a native speaker polish it. This would go a long way in building trust and credibility. That said, the monitor itself is solid. A simple fix to the documentation would elevate the whole experience.

Monitor is great! But, I need a larger size.
The monitor is excellentโvery easy to install; it is lightweight yet sturdy, and the adjustments were very easy to make as well. It is the ideal sizeโwhich is why I chose the 17-inch modelโbut for the work I do, I need a larger screen.

Extremely Stiff Stand. Power Cable is too short.
I was getting this monitor to replace another 4:3 17-inch one that was really disappointing. Right out of the gate, the SKitphrati is clearly superior. Its screen is crisp, clear, and vibrant. A complete range of colors that isn't at all washed out. It has touch screen functions I haven't used, I got it to be a monitor and nothing more. It serves that function well, but it is not without its flaws. My biggest complaint is the stand for it. While highly flexible, it is very stiff. Trying to adjust it, I feared I would knock over the monitor and even damage it. Some WD-40 might help with this, but I cannot stress enough just how stiff it is. My other big complaint is the power cable. It isn't very long, and it is built into the monitor. You cannot disconnect it for another, and I fear that if the cord gets damaged, the monitor will become useless. Overall, it is a good monitor, especially at its price point. If you get it, I suggest you set it up once and never plan to move it again. Its display is really good, well worth your money.

Fantastic graphics.
My old monitor was gradually failing, so I decided to upgrade to a touchscreen model. I unboxed it and set it up immediately. The power cord is permanently attached, which prevents it from disconnecting when adjusting the screen. There are two cables that need to be connected to the computer for full functionality: one for HDMI and the other for USB to enable the touchscreen. The monitor can be used with or without the touchscreen feature. The display is incredibly clear and sharp, and the graphics look fantastic, even on my older computer.

Monitor made for both US and EU markets
Returned the one I bought. The screen seemed to be a mix of made for US made for EU. Instructions included didn't quite match product received.

Great monitor!!
The 17 in.ยฒ monitor is exactly what I needed for my studies. It is sturdy and stands very well on my desk. I use my laptop to project the screen onto the 17 inch monitor. Itโs a big screen and makes my work easier. I recommend it.

Good monitor for digital calendar
I use this for my digital calendar and task management app on my computer, and I'm glad I found something of this size. The touchscreen is responsive, and the size is great as a secondary monitor. Was very easy to set up
