EK01 Plus Backlit Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard with Wrist Rest

An absolute fab ergonomic keyboard, picked up on Prime price >> bargain! Having used MS ones for over 10 years, this Protoarc EK01 plus is just at another level. It is so comfortable to use, the wrist pad is soft and supportive. The keys are very different to MS keyboards, it does take a little time to get used to, but it is pure bliss to use. I particularly like the silicone keyboard cover that comes with the product. It keeps it clean and dust free. I really wish I can buy backup of the covers!! Protoarc please make it possible to buy separately please! Connecting this keyboard was super easy and fast, I am using bluetooth but not tried using USB dongle yet. The keyboard looks neat and placement is great. Love the split keyboard/space bar, so useful. It is also very quiet to use, the backlight is interesting. I havent used it regularly. In summary, I would definitely repurchase this if I had to.

I was initially a bit unconvinced about the battery life on the ProtoArc EK01 Plus Backlit Wireless Ergonomic Keyboard, especially since it's Bluetooth-powered. However, I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how long it lasts on a single charge. Even with regular use, the battery seems to hold up much better than I expected, which is a huge plus. The ergonomic design is comfortable, and typing on it feels natural, reducing strain on my wrists during long sessions. The backlit keys are a nice touch, especially for working in low-light environments. What really stood out to me, though, are the additional function and feature buttons. They are incredibly useful for quick access to media controls, volume adjustments, and even shortcuts for productivity. It makes the overall experience much smoother and efficient. Overall, I’m really happy with this keyboard. It performs well, is packed with handy features, and the battery life is much better than I anticipated. A great buy for anyone looking for an ergonomic, wireless, and feature-rich keyboard.

Overall great keyboard. Well built, great functionality. Takes a day or two to get used to the layout but it did increase speed and comfort once I got used to it. A couple small issues that prevent full stars. The main one is that the have reduced the size of the left shift key substantially. As a left hander this is my go-to shift key for capitalisation, but it's so small that I frequently press the wrong key. Also, not really a fault per say, however I find the keyboard protrudes a lot to the right to fit the arrow keys and num pad. It seems to push the mouse very far out to the right, which ironically is a less ergonomic position. Great if you do a lot of number work i suppose. Those two things being said, I have replaced my normal keyboard with this as it is a solid upgrade.

*Please be aware this review is being written from a totally blind person’s perspective* I absolutely love this keyboard, thanks to the reviewer who compared it to the Ergo K860, that was really helpful as I also had one of those previously. This is really comfortable to type on, I find the keys better than the 860. They seem thicker, more robust, and I love the leather wrist rest. I obviously won’t use the backlighting feature, but I’ve easily connected it to my iPhone and iPad via Bluetooth. I love the indented keys with the edges, my fingers fit in them seamlessly. I am an audio transcriber for work, so I type a hell of a lot of course, and I needed a new keyboard after my Ergo K started slipping, having lost it’s pads. I love the media circle, in the middle of the two spacebars, like you’d find on a TV remote. I have never seen a keyboard with such accessible and clearly placed media controls, they will get a lot of use both work and personally! Thanks for this Proto Ark, I love that! It’s nice to have a rechargeable battery too, rather than having to worry about changing triple A’s. It’s a little bit more noisy than I’d like, the Ergo K860 is quieter in my opinion, but the indented keys, media circle and leather wrist rest have totally won me over! A great keyboard, well worth the price and better than the more expensive 860, in my opinion. It also doesn’t have an app, which I love, as the Logitech options is not accessible with a screen reader! I will buy a new one of these, if I ever need to replace it! Which due to typing being my job and writing Fanfiction personally, is highly likely! Just finally, I know you’re wondering… yes, I am typing this on the keyboard!

I usually wait a few months before writing a review for items. But in this case, I make an exception. This keyboard has pleased me from the minute I opened the quality packaging. From the packaging (ace-level) to the feel of the keys when typing--this is a beaut! I've just started using it, and I will say the following: 1. It has a quality presentation from the moment you open the package. It makes you feel like you're getting quality. 2. The weight of the keyboard: it's perfectly weighted. It doesn't feel cheap. 3. The feel of the keys: firstly, the keys are shaped for typing. Second, the sound is soft alongside the click of the spacebar. And three: the keyboard's size is expansive and full-sized versus the cheaper, knockoff keyboards. As a full-time writer, I needed a keyboard I can trust and that keeps a sharp and stable connection (my previous keyboard would sometimes "buffer" and that should NOT be happening when you're working!) I highly recommend this professional and aesthetically pleasing keyboard. I am a new fan of ProtoArc, and I will be perusing their other products in the future.

I've not had the keyboard for long so I'm still working on solutions. Out of the box everything seems nice, though while the magnet holding the USB dongle is cool, it's not very practical as it'll fall out easily and get lost. The 2.4G connection is absolutely worthless. I've got the receiver less than 30 cm away, in direct line of sight, and it still doesn't stay connected reliably. The Command and Option keys are backwards when using 2.4G on a Mac, but they're the right way around when using Bluetooth. I'm going to give it a day or two to see how I get on, but I fear another return is in my future.

Initially I was skeptical about the price and the design as I had never used a curve keyboard, but looking at the review and product video I decided to buy, and it's been close to 3 months since I've bought, and love it so far. The packaging was premium, the build quality is great. Bluetooth connectivity works like a charm, and holds the Bluetooth connection, doesn't drop. You can connect to 3 devices switching effortlessly, and the keyboard keys feels soft and is not noisy. It took a while to get used the ergonomic keyboard, about 2 weeks but I would suggest to give that time to learn and get used to it. The backlit keyboard is great in case you work in late evenings. I felt it is slightly on the heavier side, but don't think that as a con as I leave it on my work desk. Verdict: I'll be a ProtoArc customer for life. Note: I bought the mouse from their store as a bundle, and love the mouse.

Make sure that charging the keyboard works. I've just tried to recharge my ProtoArc keyboardcfor the very first time since my purchase in March. Despite over 8 hours of USB charging connection, the keyboard is still dead flat! If you purchase this model make sure it charges before you do anything else! I don't know whether Amazon can replace it as yet?
