Glorious Rivals (Volume 2) (The Grandest Game, 2)

Can't wait for the third of the series!

Another twisty puzzle with prizes, hidden connections, and lots of mystery! I’ve noticed that this series holds off on the really juicy bits until the last 1/5 of the book and leaves the plot on a cliffhanger. Slightly more annoying, than most because the other 4/5 of the book aren’t near as interesting. I’d give this a 3star rating for 80% of the plot, but the last 20% is really really good!

This book is so good, read in 24hrs. Would highly recommend!

I eat up these books like delicious, delicious candy, and this one is absolutely included in that! It was fun, it was fascinating, it was full of intrigue and romance, and had just the perfect sprinkling of danger. Also, if you can read these books and walk away not adoring Gigi, I'm not sure we can be friends.

I debated 3 or 4 stars. I did not like the last 10 chapters of this book. The author is great about puzzles, riddles, and games. I am struggling to understand the choice of voices and several of the conclusions that were somewhat reached. Also, while I appreciate shock and awe, I would love to see less reincarnated characters and maybe some growth and consequences for actions from the main characters. That said, I will still be back for book 3 because I care about Avery, Grayson, Lyra, and Gigi (as well as Nash and Xander) and I want to see where this ends.

I wanted to love this book more. It was good but not as good as the originals in the series. A lot of subplots to keep track of.

I like the style of this author's writing. I like the twists and turns. Mostly because I enjoy her stories without literary commentary. They are good stories and enjoyable to read. I always look forward to the next one. My only complaint is that I have to wait 6 months for the next one.

There is a lot of twists and turns in this book that have nothing to do with the game that the teams are playing and a lot to do with outside interference by sponsors all who have their own agendas. I hate to be a negative voice, but I am over Jameson and his self-righteous attitude. Twice he was warned about a security breach and twice he blew Grayson off. what happens at the end is his fault. Of all the brothers, I feel he has grown the least in character and maturity. I am not amused with his and Avery's antics and secrets from the family. Hoping Alissa does lock him up. His attitude toward Lyra for the entirety of the game was unacceptable. Let your brother find his happiness. Can't wait for the next book. Grayson and Lyra make a great team.

Glorious Rivals by Jennifer Lynn Barnes The 5 remaining players go on and continue competing in the Grandest Game. There is mystery, romance, and so many plot twists that are so very twisty as we are met by old friends and rivals. This book really kept a fast pace with the alternating Povs from Grayson, Rohan ,Gigi, and Lyra. I loved following along with the characters as they chased the clues and learned more about themselves while they are faced with internal struggles of who to trust. Inheritance Games is one of my all time favorite series and this book lived up to the hype! I absolutely loved the romance aspect of this book and liked that it didn't overtake the Mystery and Game plots. This is a clean YA novel I would recommend, this is a 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ read . I can't wait till summer 2026 to finish of this series with The Gilded Blade

I absolutely loved this book, and I'm devastated that I'm stuck with a cliffhanger until 2026 😮‍💨. Can't wait to see what comes out of the next book, and I hope it's as great as this one.
