The pizzle stays in there very well. Very heavy duty and much better than any others I've seen. My older girl is a 20 pound power chewer and this stood up to her chewing on the holder. She used to try and go off and hide to protect the pizzle when it was getting small because she knew I was going to replace it. She would also try and swallow them at the end when I tried to take them. I had to pull one out of the back of her mouth. I actually stopped giving them to her until I ordered this. Now when it gets down to the end she leaves it. The first time she did try to see if she could chew the holder to get it out....and had to give up. Ha ha. As some reviews say, they are quite large. Though I bought a second one for my 10 pound puppy and he uses it just fine. Definitely a very worthwhile investment!

I got this because of fear my dog would chicken on the stub of his bully sticks.Nice, heavy and solid holder. It has a metal spike (that's safely hidden) to grip the stick strong.Took about 10 minutes for the dog to figure it out. Now he likes it. He does try to get the stub but can't. He has no interest in trying to chew the holder at all.I picked this one because it doesn't have sides that could break off. That was also a concern since so.e other brands could do that.Recommended.

Very happy with this stick/chew holder! Very well made, heavy duty and durable! Locks it in place, firm! Our Smooch loved her bully sticks but constantly watching her and then wrestling the last bit from her whilst I have a panic attack about her choking wasn’t working for me! Now she can enjoy and I can relax! 😮‍💨

It was a little big for our puppy at first, but now that’s he’s bigger this is the best holder out there! He prefers beef tendons over bully sticks and this is the only holder that has a little metal point that holds the tendon in there. It holds bully sticks really well too! We bought 2 of these because we liked the first one so much.

The metal prong punches right into the Bully Stick groove, and holds the stick tight. It’s easy to get the stick in and make it very tight. My aggressive chewer cannot get the stick loose. The unit is a little heavy and hits the floor loudly when she drops it on hardwood floors. It’s also smooth, and I think it would be better if it were a more grippy texture for my dog to be able to hold onto easier when she chews. But it’s still very good. Eases my mind that she won’t get the little end chunk and choke.
