Didn't sit true on the arbour giving an elliptical hole
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This was the second Starrett hole saw I bought. The first one (22mm) and the arbour are fine and as expected. The 20mm holesaw I could not use as it ran out of true when mounted on the arbour, meaning that the hole was not clean or truly a circle.I don't know if this is a bad batch that should have been picked up on QC checks, but it's pretty much useless for me.

A quality cutter from a long-established manufacturer
This is a robust quality tool from a long established American manufacturer (now apparently manufacturing in the UK). I used it immediately for cutting a tap hole in a thick fibreglass bath and it performed magnificently, leaving a clean finish. I still have other sizes of these cutters which I have used in the past and they are still in perfect condition despite much use. The A2 arbor has not changed over more than 25 years which is very good (and unusual) news because it means that one can still buy these cutters and use them with one's original arbor.I can thoroughly recommend these cutters.

IT'S NOT 33mm
Extremely disappointed. I needed a 33mm hole in plywood. I had a 32mm holesaw but the hole it cut was too tight, so I bought this one. Now the hole is too big. Because of the way the tool attaches to the centre (on a thread) it runs off centre. The resultant hole was much bigger than 33mm. Only OK if you want an approximate hole.

Bad batch? - didn’t work
Maybe I was unlucky but this was blunt to start with and didn’t even cut wood, ending up even blunter after.I’ve had starrett before and never had this issue previously - bad batch?

Starrett are the best hole cutters you can get.Just drill slowly and use a cutting oil on metals.Made light work of drill two holes for extractor fans through my 6mm steel hull boat.

brill cutter, cuts fast and clean
after using work supplied cutters, cheap no brand wholesalers one, which after the 5th hole in trunking are useless. i coughed up for one of my own... these are superb.these cut quicker, cleaner and last ages and make work so much less frustrating.unfortunately, our work supplied makitas are also poo, as the chuck likes to comes loose dropping the bit out. my beloved starrett cutter and arbour now live in a buildings ac ducting.im now back, frustratingly, using works cutters and after using the starrett one its have enhanced how poor my work ones are

4.5cm cutter not 8.6cm
Description states 8.6 cm, that's the box, the cutter is only 5.2cm and will cut to approx 4.5cm deep. The cutter itself seems fine.

Cut a Clean hole.
Need to watch the speed and it snatches!! I used this size 92mm to cut a hole in the side of my campervan for the mains input 16 Amp connector. the hole needed to be 93mm but only needed slight filing..
