Otterbox has been in the case business for the a long time. They are one of the older case makers out there that promises to provide the ultimate protection with some of their line-ups offering 360 degree protection with minimum wear and tear on the case itself. Otterbox cases are the kind of cases which will likely last you the entire life of your phone. It’s so trusted when it comes to protection that we hear that in some parts of the states, construction companies recommend that their employees use an Otterbox case on an their phones. Otterbox also offers a wide range of cases ranging from the Defender, Commuter, Symmetry, Pursuit etc.While their Defender series is known for providing the most protection among all of their case line-ups, for this review, we’ll be focusing on their slimmest offering, which is the Symmetry series.Unlike the Defender or Commuter series, the symmetry series is a one piece design case with incorporation of both thick TPU and a hard Polycarbonate shell for the back. The back shell is not smooth, but instead offers a unique form of texture. This texture does not help much when to comes to grip and seems to be there more for design. There is a decent lip around the camera cut-out which prevents your lens from touching any surfaces while placed down. there is also a “Otterbox” logo at the bottom of the case. The sides which curve along the sides of the phone itself is made out of the thick rubbery TPU and provides lots of lip protection for the screen as well. When it comes to screen protectors, since the rubber-lip tends to wrap around the sides, we are not entirely sure it will work well with 5D tempered glass screen protectors. 2.5D, which we use-works well with this case. If you were wondering the difference, 5D are the type of screen-protectors that cover the entire front of the phone where as 2.5D only covers the actual screen itself.Inside the case, you will find hexagon designs running across the entire back of the case. While we not entirely sure, we assume this helps in spreading shock-absorption when the phone is dropped.Along the sides, you’ll also find buttons for your Vol and power button along with a cut-out for your mute-rocker. The buttons, since it’s a thick TPU, is a bit harder to press compared to pressing the buttons out of the case. Not uncomfortable—just needs a bit more force than usual. The mute-rocker cut-out is generous enough to let you to slip your finger in and toggle the switch even without long nails. There is also another “Otterbox” branding aside the power-button. On the bottom, you’ll find perfect cut-outs for your Microphone, Lighting-Port and Speaker. The opening for the Lighting-Port seemed big enough to allow third-party cables easy access, we personally did not try using any third-party cables.When it comes to the main purpose of this case which is it’s drop-protection, you’d expect Otterbox’s cases to be Military Grade Drop-Test Certified, but they are technically not, instead Otterbox opts to use in-house tests to meet their personal standards of drop protection. What this Drop-Protection protocol is? We are not certain. But we can assure you that the case does feel solid in the hand—which brings us to our next topic, the bulk of the case. The case, while being the slimmest in Otterbox’s case line-up, still manages to add some bulk. It is certainly slim compared to the Defender series but where you feel the added bulk is at the sides of the case. This is mostly attributed to the thicker-than-usual hard rubber TPU. While some might find this added size annoying—we see it as a form of additional protection for the phone when it comes to sides drops as the thick rubber will end-up absorbing most if not all of the shock from the fall. But the added width makes one handed usage somewhat difficult.One final thing we believe we should also talk about before wrapping-up this Review is the price. Otterbox cases, when compared to other cases—are definitely not cheap. While they do range in price, their cheapest case will set you off 2499/- (lower if you find a good deal) with the price hiking all the way to 4599/- Certainly not cheap, but this can actually be subjective when you consider the following things such as; it can be the only case you’ll need to buy as wear & tear over time doesn’t seem to be an issue. It offers some of the best protection that a case can offer, even if their cases are not MSDT certified, years of costumer confidence acts as evidence for this. The only reasons that can not justify the steep price point is if you consider cases as a fashion statement instead of an accessory that is used to protect your device; meaning, you tend to chance cases a lot and use it for the sole purpose of design and style. And lastly if you cannot stand the idea of using a case that is bulky.In conclusion, you can not go wrong with Otterbox’s symmetry series case and we would definitely recommend it to anyone that wants a somewhat slim case that can offer ample protection while sporting a minimal design. Fin, el titulo lo dice todo.No se crean, bueno, en cuanto vi este producto me di cuenta de que era lo que buscaba: diseño super simple y sin detalles tontos, y el grueso perfecto (no parece un ladrillo pero tampoco se ve delgado y frágil), la sensación es buena en mi opinión, al principio parece que se desliza fácil de las manos, pero solo es cuestión de adaptarte, nunca se me ha deslizado de las manos. Lo recomiendo 10/10.

Wow, this case has to be the best iPhone case I’ve ever had! I’ve been through cases on my older iPhone 6s and when it cracked it was time for a new phone. I didn’t want my new phone to crack or the case to be a beefy tank barley to fit in my pockets. I’ve trusted otter box with past phones but have also thought it needed to be a bit thinner. When I got my phone a year ago I got this case and man do I love this case. I’ve dropped my phone numerous times from hand held texting to head height (5’<). Never once has my phone had a dent, scratch, or crack in it. It’s a little slippery on very dry hands, but on moisturized hands it sticks. The rubber on the front face makes it able to stick onto tables and I can grip it with my hands. I do use a screen protectors too and after a year I haven’t changed it yet. This case makes it fit in my pocket with ease and is not bulky as well, if you’re looking for a minimal, non bulky, protective case this is the one for you. This will last you most likely your entire phone’s life span and I can say it’s lasted well over a year since I purchased this case. Thanks otter box for making quality for the people. The affordable price for the case makes it a easy pick up, not to pay hundreds of dollars and just spend something under $50. Needless to say, buy this case. 6+ stars

Honestly haven’t taken it out since I bought it. Otterbox has my heart forever

Seriously. The only reason why I switched it out was because I kept tugging on my old one from the bottom, and the nearly indestructible silicone bottom started peeling off after 2 years. Now that I've got a brand spanking new one that will last me another 2 years, I've missed the iPhone 11, 11pro, 11pro max, and SE, I will potentially be missing out iPhones 12 thru iPhone XX omega ultra-slim lite 6G with wifi cellular VR brainwave Siri plus.

Fits my 10 perfectly. Very slim. Durable. My last otterbox was a “fashion print” and it was durable but the print wore off in spots and the color was fading and scratching. Solid black is the way to go to hide all those scrapes and bumps.
