Without doing formal water analysis, my subjective impression is that the ice is as clear as when using the name brand filter and 3 or 4 times the cost.

We were excited about this value pack for our Thermador freezer filter, but it didn’t pan out. The manual for our freezer said to get REPLFLTR10, but we saw that and just ordered. There are more specific 9000 numbers as well for our Thermador that made it so this wasn’t a close enough fit. Totally our fault - but double-check your numbers before ordering. You can see it's just a smidge different from our current filter.

Yes they're ANSI 42 rated. Almost all cheap water filters are. They will work.While you'll save money over buying the official Bosch filtes, you'll be sacrificing filtration quality. The official filters made by Bosch are rated for ANSI 42, 53, and 401 and filter out additional contaminants.
