This is NOT for Syrian Hamsters!
This cage states it is for Syrian and dwarf hamsters, 3.5 inches (or smaller). Nothing about this cage is functional for a Syrian hamster though. From the weak magnetic door fastener that a Syrian is strong enough to nudge with their head to open and escape; to the 4.75" interior diameter wooden wheel that they absolutely cannot use to run on; to the 2.5" water bottle; to the wooden ladders that simply lean against the hole opening without any way to secure them and are easily moved by a Syrian, dropping the ladder so they no longer have access to that lower level. There are far too many aspects that cannot accommodate a 3.5" hamster. I made so many necessary adjustments to this cage, because I do love the 3 layers and that it's not made of wire - but that's about as far as my likes go.The walls of this cage are pretty flimsy, but they offer a moderate enough strength once assembled. I don't like that the partition walls in front of the doors get secured to the cage with sticky adhesive dots. Eventually the adhesive will stop holding and it makes it difficult to add or remove items, because you weaken the bond having to remove it, especially for weekly cleaning of the cage. I will have no choice but to buy more sticky dots to replace them often, to keep the partitioned wall in place. They should have created a track for the panel to slide in and out if for the cost of this cage. Upon assembly, one corner would not lock in place and kept popping every time I tried to snap it in to the channel. I wound up using packing tape to secure that corner in place. The cage came with two of the same sheets of instructions. I did not receive any instructions on how to attach and use the water bottle, it took a bit to figure out you dont use the blue piece they provided... unless I assembled it incorrectly. The instructions fail to mention what to do with the clear o-rings that are needed to secure the rails on to the base of the ladders, but that was easy to figure out. Guessing they added them for security after they drafted the instructions, because the ladder just falls apart without them. The wooden wheel was super difficult to get all the wooden slats sandwiched between the front and back panels while preventing them from shifting and wobbling around. But I repurposed the wheel into a bed by removing two of the slats because the bed that was provide was too small for my hamster to use. The table that they provided to make the ladder angle less steep was pointless. The ladder slipped around on it because there is no way to secure it from falling or getting pushed off by the hamster.Modifications I made were as follows:- Replace wooden wheel with larger 7" diameter wheel.- Replace water bottle with a larger sized bottle.- Replaced unstable ladders with a stable tube system to access each level- Added 6 child proof locks to secure the doors to prevent hamster from escaping. With so many issues and modifications, I'm not sure I'm even remembering everything - I hope I got it all! I feel that $60 USD was about $15-$20 too much to pay for everything that did not work as advertised. I cannot say if this set up, as sold, would work for dwarf hamsters, but it definitely is not made to accommodate Syrian, 3.5" hamsters at all.

Easy to assemble,but easily damaged
I like the cage itself, it's great to watch our mice from all angles and they seem to enjoy the 3 levels. It's easy to assemble, BUT the material is cheap. My 1st arrived damaged and I got a replacement, bit the replacement also had a different damage. It's a shame that the material isn't better, because this cage is absolutely perfect to keep the mess contained and tune out noise in case you keep it in a bedroom or something. So the cage itself is a good design, but unfortunately poor material.

Confusing
The product looks great. It is nice and big. It is very confusing because it comes with no instructions but we figured it out.
