These treats are great! My horses really enjoy them!

The media could not be loaded. My horses love both flavors of these treats. They were a huge hit! The gray mare is older and a picky eater. She is not usually enthusiastic about extruded treats. I think most of them are too hard for her, but these are softer. They are a good size for training rewards. My dark mare will do just about anything for them, but she is also very food motivated. My reason for giving them 4 stars is the price. I think it is high for treats that are made primarily from inexpensive ingredients (beet pulp and coconut meal are byproducts). My horses adore beet pulp, which is probably the main reason they like these treats, but they do also seem to like the flavoring. I would buy them regularly if my horses did not also enjoy inexpensive cookie-style treats.

My horses love these peppermint treats from SmartPak. These treats are an AWESOME healthy alternative to actual peppermints. My senior mare has Cushings, and my other mare has some metabolic problems. These treats are perfect for both of them by having no sugar added!The treats are a perfect size- not too small or too big. Luckily, I never have to break them apart to make them smaller sizes. SmartPak really thought through the sizing technique.My only complaint about these- it took a while for them to actually ship and arrive. I ordered the treats on 6/11 and they arrived on 6/25. I was fine waiting the two weeks, but I know some people aren’t.

I have to say, most of my horses turned their noses up at them. I was excited because they are made by Smartpak, which makes excellent supplements, and I thought they would really love these treats, but I think the fact that there is no molasses added, which makes them not as tasty for the horses. I think these would be good for horses that cannot have sugar.

If you have a pot belly, you know the aroma that can build in the cavities behind their tusks. I try my best to keep the area free of fermenting food, but sometimes he's not in the mood for me sticking my finger in there to retrieve the nasty bits.I've been giving him one starlight mint as needed to tame the fragrance. The problem is, they're full of sugar. I saw that this had better ingredients and decide to give it a try.He loves them. But he's a pig. He loves everything edible, so that doesn't say much, but they smell amazing and his breath is clean and refreshed for several hours after having one, so it's a win for me.I will note that these have a small amount of salt, so should be given sparingly to pigs. Other than that, these are a great quick fix for noxious breath until I can get in there an clean his teeth.

I was excited to try these treats for my horse and a bit skeptical as to whether he would eat them (he can be picky). The first couple treats he chewed and kinda spit out, but by the third or fourth taste he was hooked!!! They smell just like a York Peppermint Patty!They are a bit pricy, but worth it! Very limited ingredients and perfectly bite sized! I really like small, bite-sized treats. I can give more treats without feeling like I’m overdoing it. Heavy duty bag with a durable zip closure. It is so nice to have a resealable bag!! I’m not sure if it was coincidence, but the bag was zipped shut when it arrived (in addition to being properly vacuum sealed closed). I took notice because usually bags are not zipped shut and often times have crumbs stuck in the zipper and are tough to actually reseal.I would recommend these treats and I plan to purchase them again!
