Good quality, great value.
Very happy. Lighter and perhaps a little smaller than I expected, it has lots of features. I use the automatic needle threader all the time. I've tried out button holing (amazing but needs a bit of practice) and all the crazy stitches. The leaf pattern is a nice touch. Very quick to understand (lots on YouToob). "Heavy Duty"? Meh, you could say. Certainly strong and quick enough but struggled on layered fabric (as expected).Oh and by "steel" they mean the frame or the colour. Def. [quite nice] plastic casing. No lid (just papery cover). UK plug so happy there. I've used it a million times already. Lots of support and spare feet online. I'm off!

Just the thing for a novice
Simple to use and the operating instructions are clear. Still a lot to learn , but seems very dependable so far. Meets my needs as a beginner.

Great heavy duty machine, however the foot pedal is lightweight cheap plastic.
This is a great heavy duty machine. I have not tried put all the stitches yet but so far so good. It was a challenge learning how to work the automatic needle threader. Thank goodness for Google and YouTube. And the bobbin loading on the top is a breeze for my arthritic fingers.I have printed sections of the manual, which is not included in the box. The instruction page in pictures that was included made no sense at all which is why I went online and after a lot of searching eventually found the British version. I can fully understand why it is not printed. It is in 3 languages and would use up a small forest. So my advice would be to find what you need to know and just save or print those pages. My one complaint about this machine is the foot pedal is cheap plastic and the cable is too short. It is so light in weight that it is constantly moving out of position. I wonder how long it is going to last. One accidental fall onto a hard surface and I fear it will break. After working on a 40 year old workhorse of a machine it has taken some getting used to all the mod-cons. But I love it and am sure it will last long after I am pushing up daisies. Maybe not the foot pedal though!

Initially great but went wrong within a month
We purchased this machine for my daughter to use for sewlimng lessons that she has taklen a great interest in and thought we were on to a winner after looking at the reviews on this sewing machine. Unfortunatley we had to return as the feeder dog mechasism stopped working, we requested a refund and decided to purchase another machine, thinking that this was perhaps just unlucky. The new machone arrived and was initially ok, but again developed a fault with the needle holder, as we kept on snapping needles and thread kept on breaking (we were not sewing heavy fabric and the fault was intermittent) after struggling for a few weeks, we figures out that the needle holdder was not aligned, which i what was causing the issues, so sadly, we decided to return the machine again and we have now purchased a different brand. I cannot fauly the Amazon customer service as they were very helpful and were able to help with resolving and arranging the refunds.

Poor advertising on Amazon's part there
Item is exactly what I ordered, but I received it with instructions in Czech, not English, and a European 2-pin plug, so an adapter will need to be purchased for me to even start using the product. The product page gave no indication as to this, and one would naturally assume that a product sold from the UK would be compatible with UK plug sockets. Poor advertising on Amazon's part there.
