Grit Size too Small as a Pond Filter (0.5-1.0 mm)
Sand arrived completely dry which is necessary to pour it into the filter box. I bought this sand as the bottom layer of a pond filter box but it is too fine for the pond pump to push the water through the 3 inch (7.6 mm) layer. It was necessary to lift the pipe from the pump to reduce the sand thickness. However it is doing its job of spreading the water flow across the full area of the filter box before the water flows through the filter sponge layers.

Very good value for money , it is to replace sand in pool filter , so hopefully it will do what it was bought for
