Q: how to remove plastic cover without damage?

Jim, use a thin bladed, approximately 3/16" wide, screw driver to initially 'pop' the cover. Work from the windshield side. The cover is split on this side which gives easy access. Should be off in two (2) seconds.

Q: Does the light turn on on the car when u open the mirror cover?

The light in the headliner, directly above the visor illuminates (goes on). No other lights in the vehicle are turned on.

Q: this fit highlander 2015?

I don't know because I don't own a 2015. I fits my 2012.
