It has just arrived, over a month after order date, and 14 days after Christmas! On coming back to review, I have also read other peoples' reviews, which weren't present when I purchased, otherwise I might have thought twice. However, after reading these reviews, I decided to do some research, and with the assistance of a certain video media website, I have figured out that the whole idea of hair chalking is actually purely based on heat sealing non like based artist pastels onto (not into) the hair, meaning that although these are only artists pastels, they can (and I'm sure will) be used for such activity as they were advertised for. I am, shall we say, not exactly flush in the hair department, so haven't tested them, and cannot comment on how well the concept works, however the videos I have seen tell me my niece will have hours of fun brightening her hair in all manners of vivid colours (now that they have arrived and I can finally give them to her!)In summary, this is not a "does as it says on the tin" item, and you do need to do some research into proper use first, however the use that it is advertised for is only a "craze", and as one reviewer said, I think any product specifically marketed as hair chalk, is probably just artist pastels in posh disguise at twice (or more) the price!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Just ordinary art Pastils. *by H***K on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 29 December 2012* On opening these I found that although they were marketed as hair chalk, the box says its just ordinary pastel chalks for art. I've given a three star here because I don't know if hair chalk is in fact ordinary pastel just done up in a different box with a hefty price tag, or is actually a totally different product. If its the former, then I have grabbed a bargain, and the box doesn't matter so much. If its the latter then I have been duped.I'm disappointed that the box doesn't say 'hair chalk', as this is a gift for my sister in law, and I now have some explaining to do! ### ⭐⭐ Not for Hair! *by Z***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 17 December 2012* I bought this item as it was described as a temporary hair colour dye. I had heard about hair chalks and was keen to try them out (as were my daughters). When they arrived (long after they had been ordered!). I discovered on closerinpection of the packaging that these are actually artists pastels. There is no mention whatsoever on the packagingof Hair. On the packaging is a nice picture of a farm house/country seen and the packaging talks about how they "draw"! We did however try them out on our hair according to the brief directions which are on the amazon product page and they did work vaguely but certainly not very well. It was hard work to get some colour onto the hair and it didn't seem very noticable at all!!
