Bought this product to edge my lawn. While the border itself is sturdy the A frames are not. The biggest issue is that the pins to hold the border in place are terrible. They won’t go into even soft ground even using an awl to create a hole for them. They do not pass through the holes on the A frame easily so while a good idea this product doesn’t work as intended.

This is a robust, quality product. Once in place it provides a strong, neat edge between lawn and flower bed. However, it is hard work to put in place and, particularly if your ground is stony. It is necessary to dig down to the full depth of it as it will not hammer in easily. It also does not make trimming the lawn edge completely unnecessary as grass grows over it ( not from the sides of the borders obviously - it has cured that) but it is much easier to strim those edges than before. It is sufficiently strong that strimmer cord does not harm it.

We used this down either edge of our path. It was a bit of a nightmare to install. We ended up have to snap the plastic nails in half as they bent when trying to install the long ones. Our path is curved and it was hard to get it to be smooth but with a lot patience we got it somewhat like. If you can afford aluminium I would suggest that but we have over 40m to do so chose this based on price.

Very poorly designed product. It takes for ever to install this edging - the pegs are very difficult to insert into the small holes in the edging. Many pegs are broken in the pack, many are over sized for the holes in the lawn edging, the pins are bendy and difficult to insert and finally - despite this being rather expensive edging - the manufacturers somehow decided its a good idea to send about 1/3rd of the quantity of pegs required to lay the edging (yes - the pegs in pack are only about 1/3rd the holes in the edging!!)....and, you cannot buy more pegs because they are out of stock.Totally frustrated and regret why missed reading prior reviews before buying. Save yourself the hassle and buy something sensible.

Does the job. Prepare by digging down well first if you have stony ground. The 50m roll is difficult to handle but gets easier as it unwinds. Cutting is easy.

I really like smartedge but unfortunately could not use it in my garden as I have too many rocks and stones and then it is impossible to get it in.

Hopeless product. Extremely difficult to install in stony ground. Pins fiddly and difficult to insert. Not supplied with enough pins.Nightmare.
