This Columbia short is comfortable, the fabric is lightweight and dries quickly. It is wide-legged with elastic waistband that allows freedom of movement but has a major flaw to highlight the pockets can not be used to put something inside them out from under the leg and you see the pockets and what you have in them. It is an acceptable option, but with some points to improve.

I ordered the Columbia Men's Backcast Water Short in 8 Inch Inseam in Faded Peach. I'm typically a huge fan of Columbia products because they fit well and are durable. This is a great pair of versatile shorts - perfect for running around doing errands, swimming, hiking and taking the dog for a swim, trips to the beach and so on. They do dry quickly so they're great if you'll be out and about and may get wet (i.e., taking the dog for a quick swim on walk, at the beach with kids). They fit comfortably, are quite breathable, and look great. I find 8 inch shorts are a safe bet for your average guy who's looking for swim trunks --- 6 inches can be borderline as too short for some men. The Faded Peach comes across to me as a nice coral shade. The shorts fit true to size. I think this is the perfect pair of lightweight shorts and/or swim trunks that have a really nice preppy look but are breathable and comfortable (i.e., not too fitted and tight light other brands can be). Again - perfect for running around in the summer, and work well whether you're just running errands or end up going for a swim at the beach. Highly recommend!!!

Columbia makes good quality products, so I was not surprised to find these were well built, comfortable, durable and lightweight.They dry VERY quickly which is great. I've actually used them as a swim suit before as well as wading shorts when fishing rivers and they do a great job in both situations. From a function perspective they are fantastic. I only gave four stars because they are a little longer than I would like, and they are a little overly "boxy" and don't really offer any style benefits... it's nitpicky but it's true.

I also like that they’re water resistant, which is great for swimming or other water activities. They’re also very durable, so they’ll last a long time.

#ad #sponsored I got this for my dad he is 5'9 and got the 6" inseam and it's the perfect length for him! We were worried it'd be too short because we've never had to choose between two inseam sizes but we went with the 6" because we assumed the 8" might be designed for taller men. So we searched online how does 6" inseams look like and it looked like in the picture so we went with the 6 inch short. It fits him just like in the picture. He feels comfortable and despite the summer Florida heat the material of these shorts doesn't suffocate him because there are certain materials that aren't good to wear in the heat.

These shorts looked great at first. They fit well with the elastic waistband, were a good length, and comfortable. I wore them one time to do some work on my roof, and they got horribly stained on the seat just from sitting on my roof. I tried everything to get the stain out but it is permanent. Never had that issue with any of my other shorts I've worn on my roof. I also noticed that some of the stitching came loose after just one wash.

These are excellent summer shorts. The material is lightweight but durable. They have an inner liner, so are suitable as sawimwear, and are quick drying, which is always a plus. Pockets and belt loops mean they work as casual shorts as well, although the deep pockets plus the loose fit contruction mean thing in the pockets will swing around more than they would in standard shorts.And they look and fit well. The drawstring closure is perfect for swimming, and tucks neatly away otherwise.All in all, a great pair of shorts!
