Careful Confessions

Well, let me say first that I am a HUGE fan of Sara's. I first met her, like many, from 'love song'. But she is now my favorite artist. I loved both little voice and kaleidoscope heart, and decided to buy this so that I could hear some 'stripped down' and early versions of some of her songs and some new songs. I bought this, and absolutely love it. I actually haven't listened to the whole thing in total yet, but so far this album is amazing. One of my favorite songs is 'undertow'. But I would definitely recommend this to anyone who likes Sara. Though the price is a little high, it is totally worth it. Love this album! Keep up the great work Sara! Keep sharing your careful confessions with the world!

I'm a big fan of Little Voice and the new album Kaleidoscope Heart so I had to pick up her fist album. This is a fantastic album. I really enjoy listening to the songs that didn't make the cut for little voices and the way the melody and tones in those songs heavily influences other songs. For instance Inside Out has moments that are very familiar to One Sweet Love.For a fan of her work it's great to hear early versions of songs like Gravity, Fairytale, City and Love on the Rocks to really see how the song developed and evolved from early on in her career.There are repeats between this album and Little Voice but no two songs are alike.

Yes, I confess that I do watch Glee. It's a guilty pleasure but I really enjoy how the creative people behind the show can incorporate the various songs of both old and new. I never heard of Sara before until one of her songs was featured in the show and I was happy to see the emergence of such a creative artist. I bought two other CDs through the Amazon reviews and have been very happy with the music on them.

This is a wonderful album. It has many songs that appear on Little Voice, but do not assume they are the same tracks. The versions of those songs on this album are different arrangements, and they vary from different tempos to different vocal styles. I particularly like the more uptempo version of One Sweet Love, and Gravity with the backing drum track that appear on this album.

Excellent CD. The first one of Sara: Undertow and Red are one of the greatest songs in this album. The version of Gravity and Fairytale are way better than the ones recorded for A Little Voice.Reffering to shipment, the CD cover came a little broken; i asume this cd is kind of old, and the stock have suffered some damages.

Listened to "Little Voice" so much, I went looking for more Sara and was not disappointed. The nuance of her vocals coupled with meaningful lyrics provide appreciation of this singer-songwriter genre. Glad that "Gravity" was included as well... one of her best!

I'm cautious about buying CDs with overlapping songs with newer albums by the same artist, but Careful Confessions offers another perspective on some of the same songs, a much simpler sound that is appealing in a different way from the Little Voice production. There are a few novel pieces as well that are worth adding to a collection.

2ndのLittle Voiceと曲はかぶるけど、同じ曲でも全然違う!こっちのほうが味わいがあって、懐かしいかんじがする。個人的にこっちのほうが、ピアノが引き立ってるし、好きやなあ特にFAIRYTALEはダンゼンこっちのがいい。静かめな音楽が好きな人は買うべき!

I love all of Sara's stuff. I started with Little Voice and bought Kaleidoscope Heart before this too. I didn't expect this to be quite so good, but in fact it's better. It's so very consistent. The songs are absolutely brilliant. It's firmly in my top 10 albums - and I have a lot.

Sara never fails to disappoint and the album is a testimony to this great songwriter's skills

If you are a fan, you can hear the start of greatness in her songs and her voice. Some songs here were perfected and appear on her follow up album "Little Voice." This still a wonderful listen though.
