Possibly the Most Engineered Fidget Toy Around
Points:+Low friction rotation and spin+Disassembles readily into sub fidgets+Made of quality steel+Clearly designed with quality in mind+Perfect desk fidget, silent unless you want to clickSummary:Trust me when I say I’m a bit obsessed with fidget toys. I have a keen eye for the ones that elevate mindless fidgeting. The HengLiSam atomic bomb fidget may be my pick of 2024. I’ve been collecting metal fidgets for years and have always appreciated well machined, thoughtful engineering, and I believe this one genuinely delivered.I was very much adverse to the price. I’ve purchased plenty of higher end fidgets that fall short. So if I’m paying this amount I need to know it lives up to the price tag. Since getting this thing I haven’t been able to put it down. Everytime I’m at my desk I find myself taking it apart, spinning the tails, or rotating the body for that satisfying click. The container it comes in is also a fidget toy.So what does it do? As shown in the image the tail spins, but it spins with such low friction it just keeps on going. Timing its rotation, it spun for about 2.3 minutes. The body itself spins but with more friction lasting about 30-60 seconds. Both are completely silent. The body can rotate and make a clicking sound as two small spring loaded ball-bearings press against internal grooves. So what’s wrong with it? I thought it was smart they market this one as a desk fidget because given the sharper tail wings it wouldn’t really cut it as an EDC type metal fidget and by that I mean it might cut your pants bouncing around loosely with your keys. That said, you could simply leave the tail on your desk and pop it in your pocket, but the toy is at it’s best with that tail piece on it.I also grow tired of the exaggerated claims about it being a mental aide… come on… it’s literally just a toy. Let’s all just please stop pretending it treats whatever neuroticism ailes you. Just like how it’d feel absurd to say clicking a pen can cause, “Anxiety Relief” this is just simply a really fun thing to fidget with. That all said, as an exceptionally neurotic individual I do find it is quite enjoyable. As someone who will fidget with any old pen, taking it apart, playing with its spring. I cannot. Stop. Taking. This. Thing. Apart. I unscrew the core, I pop open the body, I fidget with the spring loaded ball bearings, I put them back and resemble it. I played with the container it came in. The tail wings are ergonomic and are about the width of your fingers. The tail part connects via magnets so you can flip it upside down, spin it, give it a little oomph and it drops the body like a bomb. It’s so tactilely interesting I just keep picking it back up again. If you’re into high quality fidgets I couldn’t recommend this one enough. It’s exceptionally well engineered, low friction, and I simply can’t put it down.

Another quality metal fidget
I have a tendency to gravitate towards metal fidget toys. They seem to be more quality made and have a smooth playing experience. This particular fidget is no exception. What I think is really cool about this one is that it has a lot going on in one package. First of all, this fidget is heavy! The top and the bottom come apart and spin independently. You can also easily fully disassemble this thing, though I haven't done it yet. The fidget comes in a velvet bag inside of a cool plastic bullet case that spins opened and closed. I would not recommend this fidget for children, as it is easy to take apart and has lots of small parts. However, it makes a very cool adult fidget toy.
