I purchased the 8 piece "pea green' set. They are pea green if you think of the color of canned peas. It is a mossy green that I find very pretty. And they were shipped in a beautiful, reusable, bronze plastic envelope with "Lexmore Paris" printed on the front.Quite an elegant presentation for such affordable and pretty placemats. I usually have "buys of the year" and these are one of them. Would make a great gift.They appear to be a woven, "plastic" type material. But not cheap-looking at all. They could easily be cleaned under the faucet. Since they are woven, there have holes in the weave and would not fully protect your table. The texture is a nice weight and they lay nicely. I will get a lot of use out of these.

These are nice and sturdy and I like the color. It is a tight weave and they are flat and non cloth. They can be wiped off or rinsed off. The reason I gave 4 stars is because they are thinner than I expected. However, they are still functional. I wouldn't put something on them that was hot because it would still possibly get the heat through onto the wood table. But, for using them daily for protection or for guests, they work well. For the price, they are a nice value for daily wear.

Beautiful mats! I bought the cappuccino and love the look. Blends well with my table and seasonal decor. Easily wipe clean, spills do come through but they're what I wanted for my husband and myself. If you want spills to stay completely on the mat, these probably aren't for you. They come flat and protected in a very nice storage bag with tissue paper in between each mat! An upgrade from older vinyl style and very well made!

If you are using to protect surface from rings from drinks, liquid soaks through. I have cloth placemats underneath, which are a bit larger and same color just darker. It looks good. Easy to clean.
