Go for it
Absolutely great the microphone is phenomenal. The quality , the packaging and I absolutely love recording with this mic. I was a bit hesitant to buy with no reviews from India. So here’s mine go for it. It’s absolutely worth it. The packaging was also good it arrived in a perfect condition. What I love about this model is I don’t need to buy a cloud-lifter as you can see in one of the images i uploaded it has a inbuilt preamp which is absolutely lovely as I don’t need to buy a separate one and spend extra money for it and also I don’t have to carry another item if I’m travelling. Seriously go for it. Hope this helps.

Long awaited purchased DONE. Worth it.
In terms of its quality I am damn happy and impressed because I have an non treated room, being a dynamic mic it does job pretty well, observing all its build dimensions too I would say its sturdy and makes it feel an absolute premium segment mic. It does offer decent tweak options, and combining with the 2i2 4th Focusrite, it is indeed a great combo.

Extremely Disappointed – Bought Twice, Both Defective
I don’t usually leave reviews, but this one deserves to be shared. I purchased the Shure SM7dB expecting premium quality, especially at a price of ₹50,000. The first unit I received was completely defective—no signal, no output. I did all the standard checks: different cables, different audio interface, verified settings, even tested with professional help. Returned it thinking I was just unlucky. Then I bought a second unit. Same issue. Completely dead. No signal. At this point, I’ve spent over ₹1,00,000 and received nothing that works. This is honestly shocking for a brand like Shure, known for reliability and professional-grade gear. Either the quality control has dropped drastically, or there’s a bad batch floating around. Either way, this is unacceptable at this price point. I really wanted to love this mic, but after this experience, I can’t recommend it to anyone. If you're planning to buy the SM7dB, be prepared for potential disappointment.

Garbage
Not working and getting defected item with spending 50K and lots of waiting.. I checked this mic on my steinberg sound card , I got zero signal level , then I switched the interface and connected the mic to appolo solo then the same problem was there , then I shifted to appolo twin and checked the mic with switching the mic to line level , but the same problem , I got nothing change in level whole speaking or knocking the mic , i am very disappointed with shure sm7db , a customer spend this kind of amount and get this , and don't having option to replace the item .

Best for talking head videos
It’s a fantastic mic. Perfect for head talking videos/podcast. I use a preamp (focusrite 2i2) and have no problems with audio.

Massive upgrade from hybrid USB/XLR mic - vocals transformed completely
Night and day improvement over my previous setup I upgraded to the SM7DB from a BLUE Yeti Pro, and the difference is absolutely remarkable. This isn't just a minor improvement - it's a complete transformation in vocal quality that justifies every penny of the investment. Audio Quality - Outstanding: The vocals are significantly clearer and louder with much less boost required compared to my previous USB microphone setup. The SM7DB captures voice with a richness and presence that the Yeti Pro simply couldn't match. There's a professional warmth and clarity that immediately elevates any recording. Gain Efficiency: One of the most noticeable improvements is how much less gain staging I need. With the Yeti Pro, I was constantly fighting to get adequate levels without introducing noise. The SM7DB delivers strong, clean signal that requires minimal boost, making the entire recording process smoother and more predictable. Build Quality & Design: Classic Shure construction - this microphone feels like it could survive decades of use. The weight and materials give you confidence that you're holding professional-grade equipment. The internal shock mounting effectively isolates handling noise, and the built-in pop filter works excellently. Setup Integration: Works seamlessly with my audio interface setup. The XLR connection provides the professional flexibility that USB microphones simply can't match, allowing for better signal chain control and room for future upgrades. Upgrade Perspective: Coming from a well-regarded hybrid microphone like the Yeti Pro (which offers both USB and XLR connectivity), I wasn't sure the improvement would be dramatic enough to justify the cost. I was completely wrong - the difference is immediately apparent to both the person recording and anyone listening to the output. Bottom Line: If you're considering stepping up from hybrid USB/XLR microphones to dedicated professional XLR equipment, the SM7DB delivers everything you hope for and more. The vocal clarity and reduced gain requirements alone make this a game-changing upgrade. Perfect for: Content creators, podcasters, and home studio enthusiasts ready to move from hybrid microphones to dedicated professional-grade vocal recording equipment.

Worth the price tag
Sound quality is outstanding. I use this for gaming, streaming, and recording. It’s pricy, especially once you factor in an XLR cable, mount, and audio interface, but the vocal texture and fidelity is next level good. The preamp is a nice addition to an already very capable microphone.
