almost identical except for switch cable length
Product is direct replacement for existing fan, baring cosmetic difference (old one was black). Bought to fit into an Antec P182 case. Biggest issue is that fanspeed switch cable is HALF the length of old one. Had to orientate fan, so that cable was closest to switch mounting point in case. Fan enclosure is symmetrical though. Screws were supplied. A little awkward to mount, as screws had to cut into plastic of fan frame - difficult to locate and hold fan into position using screws which still needed to 'bite' into plastic. Got there in the end though. Sounds slightly different to old one (old one was slightly lower pitched) - decibel levels weren't measured but i think the fans sound pretty much the same (volume wise). It works though and effectively replaces the old failing fan very well.

Continuous improvement? No thanks!
My Antec P182 originally came with two of these pre-installed: they were matt black, to match the case, in those days (2008?) They have given excellent service - very quiet and unobtrusive but always doing their job. One failed recently, so my CPU fan started picking up the slack and I noticed the noise, although the temperature never became dangerous! This replacement item is - in principle - identical. However, the Devil is in the Detail. I don't care that the fan is not black, but I do care that the lead to the tri-switch is shorter than before (although the workaround is not a problem for my particular case). More importantly, the switch itself is slightly smaller than the original, so it doesn't clip securely into the fitting which held the original. The original fitting's plastic clips are weak anyway and I've had to build-up the switch with sticky tape to ensure that it doesn't push back into the case itself. So - if it ain't broke, PLEASE don't fix it. If you choose to 'improve' it, then don't sell it as identical to the original - it really isn't!

Excellent quality and dependable three speed case fan
If you are familiar with these Antec fans you will already know how reliable and excellent value they represent.Prabably the most popular size is the 120mm which are really efficient for moving large amounts of air from your computer. As the name sudjests there is a small switch built into the cabling of the fan to regulate the speed depending on your needs.I am using a 92mm version on my Thermalright Cpu Cooler to keep a Quad Core processor cool and it is pretty good at doing just that.At this moment in time i am using five separate Antecs in my case and with daily useage no fan has let me down.If you are looking for a case fan that is reliable and really excellent at moving lots of air whilst remaining fairly quiet then this Tricool will certainly work wonders at a realistic price.

An excellent value fan with good airflow albeit with a poor speed switch
The Antec TriCool 92mm 3 speed fan is very cheap at the price (£5.47 at purchase) and provides good cooling with little noise at the highest setting. The fixed fan speed controller is effective and the 3 options given seem to be sensibly chosen. However, the switch is quite cheaply made and a little bit of rocking is sometimes required to ensure that the fan changes to the desired speed, something that should happen as you move the slider across automatically. In general though, the fan is excellent for the price.

I got this for a friend and it's pretty okay if I'm honest. It has 3 speed settings and on low speed it's silent but on full speed it's quite loud.you can connect it to the power via a 4pin molex or a 3 pin.Fan controllers do work with this but you can NOT controll the fan speed via the fan controller. You have to use the fan's built in 3 speed switch.overall it's okay...would recommend as a temporary measure to keep your tower cool untill a better fan came or if you don't want to spend much money...but if you're looking for the quitest fan with the best air flow... this isn't for you...

Antec Fan 8cm 3speed fan review
The fan cable is 3pin and can connect to any reciprocal cable. Currently is is used as an exhaust fan in a lanbox case. It is as quiet as the akasa 80mm quiet fan at each setting (slow, medium and fast)and the air exhausted is good for its size. The speed controller for the fan can be left hanging outside of the case and flicked to the required setting depeding on the task.I am impressed by the clarity and brightness of the LED's.

Good airflow with excellent speed adjuster
It has to be pointed out that if you want the best fan for airflow or the quietest then this ticks neither of those boxes I'm afraid. Try the Scythe Kaze Jyuni - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Scythe-Jyuni-1900RPM-Stream-120mm/dp/B000W7P4XE/ref=sr_1_22?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1244039582&sr=8-22 - for maximum cooling or the Scythe "Gentle Typhoon" 500RPM for lowest noise. But if you're looking for good performance that can be adjusted on the fly (via a handy switch box) and an attractive colour then this is good. The loudest part in your system would typically be the gpu or cpu fan and this is a fair bit quieter than the average level of those (50db).

Silent and cold.
Like the switch that allows you to change the power of the fan.. looks cool also. Used it on my Anet A8 3D printer to cool that dodgy stock PSU..
