Functional and fancy coffee brewer that requires high maintenance
You probably bought this product because it's a fancy coffee maker you saw somewhere or heard from someone. So did I but let me tell you a few very practical things about this Moka Pot. If you're planning to buy a moka pot anyways, buy this Venus and not the express because the former is made of stainless steel as oppsed to alluminium in the Express variant. Plus I've heard that the coffee tastes better in this. Coming to the build quality, straight out of the box, only the shiny exterior looks sturdy and well made. The inner wall of the water storage container isn't stainless steel and I suspect it will be the first part to rust. Firstly, there's a user guide so go through that very thoroughly. This is quite an advanced coffee brewing tool and there are a thousand ways to brew horribly tasting coffee. The right practice needs quite a lot of knowledge and practice. There's an Italian Youtuber called Matteo D'Ottaviao who deconstructs Moka Pot (even Venus) in an easy to understand manner. Highly recommended to watch his videos on proper use, proper cleaning and maintenance. To summarise my learnings based on my limited usage so far- ~ This is marketed as "2 cup" but in all reality you get enough to make just one cup. Splitting it between two people will leave you desiring for more coffee. So for all practical purposes, it's "1 cup". ~ If you grind your beans, make sure they're grinded finely to espresso size. If using ground coffee, the standard fine grind size available in the market will suffice. ~ Make sure the coffee you're brewing with this is between medium and medium to dark roast. Dark roast coffees tend to intensify the flavour and it'll end up more bitter than you expected. ~ ALWAYS make sure the water doesn't cross the marker level inside the container at any cost. ~ Fill the coffee in the basket till the top and do not compress or tamp to add just a little more coffee. This is what gives bitter tasting coffee due to over extraction. ~ Cleaning this can be an absolute pain. As soon as the coffee brews, transfer it and pour water into the collecting chamber so there won't be muck build up (refer to my photos to understand). The YouTuber I've mentioned above has made an entire deep cleaning video for this- watch it. So over-all, even though Bialetti invented the Moka Pot and this is a more practical moka pot to purchase, I don't necessarily think paying 3200 for this build is worth it but if you wash it, dry it and maintain it well, it should be alright in the long term but it's definitely on the higher maintenance side (in terms of time invested). Given I'm the only user for this Moka Pot at home, I'm not evaluating it's worth . But if you really need to buy one, checkout the 4 cup and 6 cup although the 4 cup is notoriously known to brew low concentrations with high bitter tasting profile.

Shiny and Solid
A much safer product than the others out there, worth the cost, stainless heavy steel - easy to clean and the coffee comes out amazing, spreads the aroma. What makes it safer than others is that its nozzle has a cap so when coffee comes out with stem pressure it points downwards and doesn't split outside unlike others where there are horizontal holes and coffee spurs out if coming with pressure.

Great buy
I use this everyday- but the rubber rim inside expands over time and if used everyday you do need to replace it every couple months. Otherwise it’s good and durable and size is also decent.

Solid and heavy and good craftsmanship
This is the optimal size for two normal cups of coffee. The handle is outward facing which is very important otherwise you can get singed. I find it very difficult to find any fault with this stovetop coffee maker. Bialetti is expensive but then quality never comes cheap.

Beware! Rusted within months.
I had high hopes while buying this stainless steel Bialetti moka pot, unfortunately despite careful usage and storage the bottom chamber is developing rust and it keeps coming back despite repeated attempts to remove it. I reached out to Coffee Workz, the retailer and distributor for this multiple times but they have absolutely no care at all. Pretty disappointing. If you look up Reddit, you’ll find this is a common & known issue and the steel is unfortunately not as great as it’s marketed to be. Not expected for the price especially.

Makes really good coffee!!
Combined with home grounded coffe this little thing makes extremely good coffee. Stainless steel both looks and is a lot better than the cheaper ones in aluminum (wich is really not good for the health!!).

IN DEPTH REVIEW! This is an amazing product.
This is an absolutely AMAZING moka pot. If you’re not sure if you should buy this one, buy it. I will tell you exactly why this is an amazing product and the steps to keep it that way. I wanted to give it some time before I wrote a review on this since I have seen others have said their moka pot has either rusted or had something else unfortunate happen. It has been about 3 weeks since I’ve had this and I have had NO issues. The most important part about using this moka pot is to clean it thoroughly. I would assume that the buyers who reported that theirs rusted did not care for them properly. Once you finish, rinse your moka pot with warm water and dry each part completely with a paper towel/towel. I have been making coffee with this wonderful product everyday and it never fails to disappoint. The thing about moka pots is that the product itself will almost always perform perfectly, and the issues are almost always caused by the owners own mistakes. With proper usage and proper care, this moka pot will pour out amazing coffee each time. Here are the steps: Step 1: Once you get the moka pot, open the manual and do a quick read of the simple instructions. There could be a few things you didn’t know, so it’s important just to give it a look. Step 2: Fill the basket up with coffee grounds. You can either use a scale or just fill the coffee up to the top of the basket and level it out. I’m pretty sure the baskets are designed to be filled up all the way. DO NOT tamp your grounds. This is to ensure that water can easily pass through the grounds. The most you should ever do is tap the sides of the basket to level out the grounds. (I do not tap the basket down or tap the sides anymore because I found that the water still has a difficult time passing through this way as well) Step 3: Pre-boil some water. Many people say it’s important to use hot water so the coffee grounds are not in contact with heat for too long therefore preventing the grounds from burning and causing an unpleasant flavor. Step 3: Turn the stovetop on to medium heat. If temperature is too high the extraction with happen too quickly. Medium is perfect. Step 4: Pour pre-boiled water into the bottom chamber. Fill just below the steam valve. If you fill too much and the water blocks the steam valve, the pressure could build up and your moka pot could explode. So this is a very important step. Step 5: Drop basket into the bottom chamber Step 6: Screw on the top of the moka pot all the way. Use a towel to grab the base so you don’t burn yourself. Step 7: Place the moka pot on the stove and watch the magic happen. You’ll see the coffee start to fill up the upper chamber and once you hear it start to sputter you will take it off and run the bottom under cold water to stop the brewing process. There you go! You’ve just made amazing moka pot coffee. Now, because moka pots rely heavily on how you use it, there’s many ways you can tweak the process and develop your own brewing technique. The steps I gave you are just the basics. Okay so real quick. When you clean the moka pot remember to dry it THOROUGHLY. Separate all three parts of the moka pot. Rise each part with warm water. The bottom part and basket are the easiest to clean because one only has water in it and the other is just a small basket. The top part is still extremely easy to clean, but because this is where the coffee sits it takes about a second more to clean. Just make sure you get all the coffee out so your next brew is as fresh as it can be. Now when you dry, simply just take a paper towel and get all the water out. Make sure it’s completely dry so you don’t run into any issues. When you’re done, just assemble it as normal and don’t screw the top part on too tight. Leave it attached but keep it loose. This is to make sure you don’t wear out the rubber gasket. There’s so much more information on the internet that will teach you how to use it even better, but I hope this helps too!
