Good HDD but humax spat it out
Good HDD but the old humax couldn't format it or recognise it so used it in a spare HDD bay in the PC now ot gives me more reliable needed desktop storage space.Very good drives.

New old stock.
Arrived looking like new and sealed in an anti-static bag. Manufacture date code translated to Aug 2013, but after connection the SMART data confirmed zero hours runtime so an unused drive. If you want to confirm run-time for your drive install seatools from the seagate website. If you want or need a new old drive, this is probably a better bet that the refurbs out there, and good value for money.

Cheap fix great does what it says on the tin
Looks like a refurbished. But great value and slots straight into our humax PVR. Took 15 minutes, dead easy. A cheap fix that saved buying new when the rest of the PVR was fine.

Works!
Bought to replace the faulty drive in my Humax HDR-1100S. Arrived next day, simple to fit and working perfectly. Just what I required at a very reasonable price.

Segate 500Gb new or used?
After seeing many reviews about 2nd user HDDs being sold as new, I bought this expecting it to be new. It arrived in a sealed packet and the Diskinfo program showed it's usage to be consistent with being brand new or at least unused, just quality testing by the manufacturter. The supplied HDD was manufactured in August 2010. According to the product description these where first introduced in Sept 2012 so this seems to be inaccurate. I checked the status of the warrantee with Seagate and it has expired (HDD warrantees can be up to 5 years) so these are new but old stock. If like me you are replacing a failed drive or just upgrading an old(er) system this has to be better than buying a used drive of similar age. There's not much point in buying the latest 6Gb transfer rate drives when your hardware can only handle 3Gb.To put it all in perspective I have some very old (10 years +) IDE drives that are still working fine so a 6 year old unused HDD doesn't seem like too much of a risk. It has to be better than one that's spent a number of years in someone else's PC! So I'm happy with this purchase.

Works perfect, new old stock
The drive works perfectly as a direct replacement for a failed sky hd Hard drive. The drive was sealed in an anti static bag. The date code is from 2011 but the drive is consistent with a new unused drive so appears to be new old stock. Overall very happy with the drive at the price.
