O2 Cool Mist 'N Sip 20 Ounce Hydration Bottle

I first saw misting sprays around the pool at the hotel I was staying at in Las Vegas. They sprayed constantly and made it possible for people to sit around the pool on the hottest of Las Vegas summer days.On a sweltering day in Chicago a couple of summers ago, I thought it would be great to have some of those misting sprays available. I went to Google first and then Amazon and came up with several that seemed likely candidates for water bottles that sprayed a mist.As you can see from the picture it looks like a regular water bottle except for the nozzle and spray trigger. This is a particularly functional design. Many of the mist sprayers have a pump attached so that you need to pump regularly to get it to work. This one uses a single trigger that sends out a mist spray every time. It is a really nice full spray, too. I put the bottle in the basket with my dog and can lean down at any time and spray some mist while riding. I also use it liberally at rest stops. The design of the down tube is excellent, very thin and flexible. Some bottles have a thick tube that gets stuck in the ice cubes.While this works great for me as a cyclist, a runner can use one, too. I see runners carrying bottles all the time. Ditto for just walking out in the heat.

I've bought a few of these over the past couple of years. They're a fun accessory for hot summer outdoor activities. The mister stalls sometimes, but they've always started working again after some persistent squeezing.As far as the water bottle aspect goes, it's pretty difficult to get a good flow out of these bottles. You have to suck pretty hard to get water to trickle out, which is not-so-ideal for hot summer days when fast, efficient hydration is preferable. Also, having seen the review on the questionable material this bottle is composed of that was posted since the last time I bought one of these, I'm thinking these are basically a no-go as a water bottle.That basically leaves you with a mister that looks like a water bottle, and probably doesn't work as well as a mister that functions only as a mister.

The bottle is sturdy, the handle seems like it will hold up but it's still too new to judge, and the sprayer works quite well.The only minor complaint is that the drinking spout is drip-proof -- a good thing to prevent spills, right? -- but it also means you have to use slight sucking on the opening to get the water out. Not the worst thing in the world, but for bottles that are thrown in the beach bag without a cap, knocking around with the beach buckets, sun tan lotion, and who knows what else, I'm not totally thrilled with tasting sand when I want a drink of water. If you're using these for hiking, picnics, or sporting events, they work quite well.

So... we love the mister water bottle. I have to say I was a bit dubious about it, but the 8 year plugged it pretty well so I gave in and ordered one. We hauled it along on a trip to Sea World recently and the mister is a fantastic addition in 105 degree heat! I gave it 4 stars because the markings have already washed off (who knows how much liquid we have in there now??) and it now leaks a bit if it tips over (didn't do this when we first got it -- we've had it for a few months now and it gets daily use.)

My kids absolutely love the mister function on their water bottle - and it is envied by others on their teams. They usually end up spraying each other. It is a good size and works well. I only give it 4 stars because 1) water does not stay cold as it is not insulated and 2) a bit hard to know that you are getting it really clean. Still my kids love it. I had to order a replacement one after we left one at a field after practice.

If this were just a mister, I would have given it four stars. Mister works well but doesn't stay cold that long. The drinking part is what this bottle fails to accomplish. It is hard plastic so you can not squeeze it. That wouldn't normally be a problem, but it is very difficult to drink from this. You have to suck super hard and only a little water comes out at a time, and then the sound it makes when you stop sucking on it is very loud. This bottle would be hard or impossible to use at a place where quiet is needed (concerts, church, school classrooms, etc). I bought one bottle and liked the mister so I bought two more, but after trying to use it more and discovering how hard it was to drink from, I regretted buying the others. They also do the same thing as the first one I bought, so I know it's not just that I have a defective bottle.

This MISTS better than a regular spray bottle (which can tend to get drippy or spray bigger droplets, even brand new.) I love that it had a built in hook - I clipped a carabiner clip to mine and then onto my bag so it's just always with me. We've had various sprayers and misters, battery-type and not, and they've all been better than nothing as we live in Phoenix and the temperature is comparable to that of the surface of the sun for about 100 days a year. But this is our favorite so far. I do wish (a) it was insulated so you could keep the water colder longer and (b) you could pick your own color.

While it is functional as a water bottle and the mist function is ok, I did not care for the handle. It is stiff and you are not able to use it in such a way to hang from bag,belt lop or another way.Large too that simply carrying is an inconvenience. In addition while I understand is plastic the temperature does not hold and water becomes warm fairly quickly in the bottle.
