Works as advertised.
Works great. I used my previous ice makers cord since neither one that this new ice maker came with fit my fridge. Replaced the old ice maker with the new one switched off for 12 hours then turned it on and I had ice the next morning. Old ice maker was leaking small amounts of water into my ice bin and clumping all the ice together. I tried thawing it out and reinstalling multiple times but it never got better for long. This new maker was easy to install and I haven’t had any issues with it.

And we have ICE!!!!!
"Move to California" they said. "It will be an adventure" they said. People that belong in the cold should not live in a desert. Believe it or not, not all of california is Hollywood and beaches. This is farmland and oilfields. So sll ing ice to an eskimo...... I never thought it would happen.Getting a little overheated is kind of expected when you live in a climate that only dips down to your known 'warm summer breeze' in the middle of their winter. Having ice for your beverages helps overcome that. The house came with a maytag refrigerator/freezer side by side with water and, you guessed it, ice in the door. The ice worked for the first two months I lived here. However December and January in the northern hemisphere has little need for ice in any capacity. When it broke in January, it was not the end of my world. I will survive.February saw temps as high as 70F and I wanted to die. I did something i vowed i never would. I called a handyman to come fix it. He got to my house a few days later only to do some tinkering with the ice maker and tell me it's fixed and charge me $250. Three days later, there was still no new ice. I called him back and he showed up three hours later and let me know the condenser was bad and it needed to be replaced. He then started calling his parts providers. An hour later he tells me that nobody makes that part any more and i can stick with the appliance or buy a new one.The next day i went out to price a new freezer with an ice maker and came home with ice trays for my freezer. Can you believe the lowest price i found with an ice maker was over $900? Just for ice? I've clubbed seals that lasted in a wood box for over three years. Not a chance I was gonna spend $900 for a crappy freezer. There had to be another answer. After calling the manufacturer, six parts suppliers and another handyman, I did what I should have done months before. I checked Amazon. Lo and behold, this is exactly the part I needed. Two hellish days later at 73F, my ice maker arrived. It took all of 5 minutes for my mechanically declined fingers to install the little part. A few hours later I heard the most glorious sound ever. It was the crunch of ice toppling out of the maker into the hopper. The ice trays I had bought could retire. The inconvenience of filling them every time you empty them is obviously beneath the teenager's of the world. No drink in this home will ever run empty of ice again, and with the summer peaking at 117F, that's a necessity. California will not defeat this eskimo.

Verify connections in the picture
Technically the right part except for the wiring. Verify your wiring in the picture. Although it's the correct part number, it's not the right wiring harness.

Came with all the parts shown, super easy install.
The hardest part of the install was taking the freezer door and trays off of the fridge. I've seen a bunch of reviews that said they didn't receive all the parts, my purchase had everything I needed to complete the install. Simple as loosening 2 screws and disconnecting the power supply cable. I used the old cable and drop arm (On/Off) because the one supplied was a little too small, Other than that, perfect. 15 min install time for the ice maker. 1 Hr to get the freezer door and trays out!! When all is said and done, I think I could have done the job without taking the doors off, live and learn as usual.

Transfer used parts , to new parts
Unit was in good condition, the connectors didn’t match but , thank god all I need to do is , re-use your old parts . Mine was a whirlpool , it worked . It could have had 2 different type of connectors , so customers would be covered

Cheaper than a new refrigerator
Not a difficult job at all. Full instructions on Utube. Biggest hassel was th plastic water tube(s) were brittle and broke easily. Got a kit from Lowes and finished the job without further problems.
