The media could not be loaded. I received my new Hubsan X4 Air H501S very quickly. 18 hours is all it took to be delivered to me after ordering. I ordered the black standard version.The drone offers so many functions at a low price. The functions rival many DJI functions for literally 1/4 the cost.This drone is flown using a controller that contains an lcd screen so I can see exactly what footage the drone is recording.This allows me to line up my shots and take photos or video of exactly what I want. The video is very clear and is in 1080.I can take videos and pull frames from the video for excellent photos.Check out some of the functions this drone has:1080P HD CAMERA: The H501S has a 1080P high definition camera that takes awesome videos and photos. I really can not believe how clear the video and photos come out.This thing takes better videos than my new cell phone. I can record multiple flights on the sd card that plugs into the drone.It can take up to a 32gb micro sd card. A 15 minute video is typically 2gb - its can fly longer than this on a single battery charge. The battery is a 7.4 Hubsan battery that is included. Extras are cheap on Amazon.FPV: First person view is available right on the transmitter. You see what your drone sees as it flies. This is so awesome!! I also have a set of FPV goggles that y wife wears while I fly. She says it makes her feel like she is sitting in the cock pit ha ha. Any set of 5.8 goggles will quickly pair with this drone.Even a $30 set.It helps me to take video and photos of what I want rather than guessing how it will come out, I can line the drone up with what I am shooting and know I got the shot I want.GPS: While flying in gps mode the drone will hover in place without gaining height or moving side to side. This allows for new drone pilots to learn how to fly without worry of crashing. Existing pilots will enjoy the quality of how well it holds its position.FOLLOW ME MODE: While in follow me mode the drone will follow the transmitter as it moves. We tried this while biking and hile on a family hike.ALTITUDE HOLD MODE: While in this mode, the drone will keep its current height and will not rise or drop unless you tell it to. It can however drift from side to side. The drone much faster in this mode than in GPS mode.ORBIT MODE: While in orbit mode, the drone will constantly circle the transmitter. Its a great way to record all the action occuring within the circle.Its a nice option to use when you want to capture an activity like a volleyball game or just want a great video of you and your family in the yard having get together.HEADLESS MODE: While in headless mode you do not need to worry about the orientation of the drone.Pushing away from you will move the drone away, pushing towards you will bring the drone towards you regardless of which way the front of the drone is facing. This is a nice way to learn if you are just starting out and learning to fly.RETURN TO HOME: While flying in gps mode, you can flip the return to home switch on the transmitter and the drone will fly back and land itself exactly where it took off from!You do not have to do anything but flip a switch. Be sure to wait for 6 or more satellites before take off so the home point is properly recorded.This is a great drone with some really great functions built in. The price is low and well worth it. You can fly more than one of these at a time with a friend with no interference. I was able to fly it over 400 meters out of the box.It is built well and can take a crash without totally trashing it. Extra parts are available and are also inexpensive.I think I am going to buy another one so my kids can fly with me. They have both picked up flying very quickly with this drone because it is so easy to fly. I highly recommend this drone for both new and existing pilots!

Customer service can only be reached by email and they are not prompt or helpful at all. Their warranty is useless. If anything goes wrong, you have to mail it to China at your expense to have them look at it and determine if it is covered by the warranty. Try organizing all of that via email with bad English -one line answers.This drone was great for the first 3 months. I loved it! But after 3 months I took it to the Utah desert and flew it for about 3 minutes, at which point it went haywire in the air and crashed. I have flown other drones and so I am not a novice.I contacted HUBSAN Customer service (only available via email) and they responded that it must have been a magnetic interference and advised me to re-calibrate and try again. Upon trying it again in a new location (where I had most often flown it during the first 3 months -rural Colorado) the same thing happened. This time with catastrophic results. To be clear, I calibrated it before flying and did everything exactly right. There was no wind, no extreme temperatures and no rain etc. All batteries were fully charged.I have flown lots of other drones although this is the first I have ever owned.In the air it wouldn't respond and began to fly erratically at high speeds. It went up and down and sideways.... It would not respond to anything I did with the controller. I used the return to home feature with no results. It was the most horrifying feeling -as there was nothing I could do. The drone buzzed me at high speed which was scary like something from a movie. It eventually slammed sideways into the ground about a half mile away. This was dangerous! It is badly damaged. I am grateful that nobody was injured and no property was damaged! I was flying it on a ranch with only a small house and a barn for miles around and no above ground power lines.It is within the year warranty, so I emailed Hubsan and finally got a response from China. It took 4 emails and a week to get the first response. In order for them to even look at it I have to mail it to China (at my expense) and then they will decide if they will cover it. It is hard to communicate with them as I get one line email responses with not great English and then have to wait until the next day to get another response. For example they told me on Friday I have to mail it to China but they did not give me a label, so I emailed asking for the shipping label. They responded on Monday that I have to pay for it but did not give me an address. Now I have asked for the address and a time frame and a description of the process. I will have to wait yet another day or 2 and hopefully they will answer all of my questions.... This has been going on for 10 days -just trying to get the warranty process going! So should I pay to send it to China simply to have them deny responsibility and tell me it's not a warranty issue? If I had known this, I would not have bought this drone. Buyer beware!!!!! If anything goes wrong, you have wasted all your money! I would advise strongly against buying anything from HUBAN!

The media could not be loaded. I was new to drone when I got this however it was easy to use. The beginning setup for calibration is timely. There is not much compatibility if you wish to use with phone. The one downside is removing micro sod to get pictures off of it. The battery life and fly time is decent for the size of this drone.There also isn’t a lot of fancy extra features.

Great reliable and affordable drone. I flew this drone out over 300 meters with stock controller at 55meters up. I Stopped because it was becoming hard to see. The FPV was clear the whole time. This was without the mods on the controller. The altitude hold mode was fun with the additional speed. The manual mode was a blast. If you are not an experienced pilot and do not understand drone orientation, do not use those modes. You will crash. GPS is perfect for the beginner.

Pros: Slick design, GPS, RTH function, follow me mode, Fpv right on the controller, HD camera, gold brushless motors; and the long lasting lipo battery life of 20 minutes for both controller and quadcopter.Cons: battery compartment located on the back of quad makes it hard to stick wires in with battery. Also the return to home function only works when the switch is flipped, there is no fail safe mode to where the quadcopter comes back to you if its low on battery only when it loses signal with controller will this work. When battery is low it just lands itself wherever it is.Lastly the battery on display on remote controller is not always accurate as to how much voltage you may have; just watch for the rails lights on the quad if they turn red your battery is running low.Overall a good quadcopter for what you pay just make sure you research the seller before you buy as I have seen a lot of videos to where buyers are getting faulty units
