Eagle CreekLuggage Rain Away Travel Umbrella

I purchased this umbrella to replace an identical one I had lost on my last trip. It is very compact and lightweight so you can tuck it in your bag or backpack and hardly know that it is there. I also keep one in the glove compartment of my car. It takes up no room but sure is handy when you need it.

Vorweg: ich liebe die Marke Eagle Creek und habe diverse Koffer und Taschen von Eagle Creek. Deshalb hatte ich mich beim Kauf eines kleinen Immer-Dabei-Reiseschirms hierfür entschieden.Positiv ist sicherlich, dass der Schirm winzig ist und auch entsprechend wenig wiegt, er ist federleicht. Allerdings leidet darunter (natürlich) auch die Stabilität, sprich das Gestänge ist dünn und nicht wirklich windstabil. Wenn man den Schirm erstmals aufgeklappt in der Hand hält, unterscheidet er sich nicht groß von den 3-Euro Produkten vom Discounter. Habe z.B. einen Schirm vom Müller daheim, der seit Jahren zuverlässig funktioniert, auch nur gut 100 Gramm schwerer ist allerdings auch nur 5 Euro gekostet hat.Fazit: kann man kaufen wenn es auf jedes Gramm ankommt, ansonsten gibt es bessere und stabilere Schirme.

This is one of the smallest and lightest umbrellas around, and has hardware and finish that I like. Lost the last one, so just bought the next one.

This is the poorest, cheapest, most unfunctional umbrella ever made. Too bad! Because now made in China? I bought "same" umbrella 5 or 6 years ago and it was great. I will never buy ANYTHING from Eagle Creek again. Couldn't even be bothered to return it. Just threw it away in disgust. Caveat emptor!

Quality dropped from a previous one I bought a couple years ago, had to return because the end popped out.
