I can confidently say that the Wild Elk product is by far and away the best that I've come across. There may be better, but I've not come across such. It is now the only cord that I buy and use whether in the garden at home or while out and about in woods, ranges and mountains. I always have about 20 metres in my rucksack, and another 20 in my Jeep - together of course with a roll of duct tape and wire:) I've used it in shelter building, to make replacement bootlaces and for other general lashing duties. I can't praise it enough. I tend to the conservative Coyote brown, (although it is rather more an olive colour), but you can't go wrong whatever colour you choose. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best ever *by L***N on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 28 April 2020* I've bought loads of sting/rope from different sources. This is simply, hands down, the best para cord I've ever bought by a country mile. If you're into rope/knot work, this is nice rope to handle as well as being strong. This 4mm cord is a good size if you are making up utility stuff like dog leashes or tying down loads.I bought the black and white fleck version which is really nice but will be buying more of this product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Premium paracord *by M***G on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 January 2014* There are various grades of paracord, all with different breaking strains - Type I, IA, II, IIA, III and IV, with a *minimum* breaking strength ranging from approximately 43 to 340 kg (Type I and Type IV respectively).This "Wild Elk" paracord is the second highest rating - type III (the seller claims a breaking strain in excess of 250kg).At the same time, I bought Web-Tex 100m Roll of 3mm Para Cord - Olive Green (also see 100m Paracord on Reel) for situations where I do not need a high breaking strength. It costs half the price per metre but has a far lower breaking strain (a *maximum* of 70kg according to the seller as opposed to Wild Elk's advertised *minimum* of 250kg) - this cheaper alternative appears to be Type I or Type IA. Beware the word "maximum" - I can imagine people weighing 60kg thinking it is safe to be suspended by it.By buying both, I don't waste this premium paracord on light duty needs.I have found paracord very useful for those jobs in the house that just crop up, as well as for bushcraft. Within two weeks of buying it on a whim, I suddenly found I needed some cord for a job in the house.You may be interested to know that there is a reflective version of this paracord although only in black, orange & brown: 550 Paracord Type III Commercial 7 Strand 100ft Black Reflective,550 Paracord Type III Commercial 7 Strand 100ft Orange Reflective and 550 Paracord Type III Commercial 7 Strand 100ft OD Reflective. To see what the reflective version looks like at night, there is a photo of it on the black reflective version (see the link above) - at the time of writing it is the second photo.Incidentally, despite its breaking strain, you should not use this for climbing or similar purposes.
