Review: This is a perfectly fine mesh system. Is it amazing? Nope. But, for the cost, it delivers high speed wifi, and is extremely fast to setup. I needed a functional mesh system in a hurry that would handle a normal "smart" household worth of networking and devices. This delivers that with a perfectly usable app and interface. If you are an IT professional, will you be impressed? Probably as much as a race car driver will appreciate a Daihatsu (that's a super cheap subsidiary of Toyota that sold cars in the US for short time.) But, Tenda products are fine for the home user. They offer some customization and perform more than adequately for the price. I recommend this mesh set-up if you want expanded wifi coverage, cheaply and easily, but don't care too much about being able to adjust too many parameters of your router settings. That being said, it does offer WPA3 security and IPv6 and advanced DNS settings... so at least some expected basics for a contemporary wifi router.
Review: Works as advertised. My house is very old (thick walls) and spread out over a large area bungalow style with a basement. My rural internet provider is an LTE system which means any drop in signal really reduced the utility of the network. I struggled to get good signal in far corners where important devices were, even with wired access point routers that I had set up around the house. The mesh system takes the guesswork out of which node to use and automatically switches to the most reliable connection. From 20-25Mbps on the old system, I am now getting 45-65Mbps depending on the LTE strength on a 50Mbps plan. Streaming is much better now, although there are times where full HD is not possible. I put this mostly on the ISP and not on the device itself. It seems there is quite a bit of throttling at certain times of day. I still used the Cat6e cabling from my previous set up to hardwire the farthest basement node, which in turn is hardwired into my main desktop. This contributes a difference somewhere in the 10-15Mbps range which is important for my purposes. However, for somebody with a faster connection or a much smaller house, I suspect that these would be phenomenal. My father has a similar TP-Link mesh system (AX3000 as well) and the only things I would say which are superior on those units are the slightly smaller footprint and a nicer app. The Tenda app is useable and simple, but not as user-friendly or intuitive, and the functions are somewhat limited in comparison. For the average user, myself included, that is probably not a make-or-break issue. However, the app setup on the TP-Link system is superior in my view. I cannot compare speeds between the units because he has a much faster connection from his ISP. For $100 or more saving on the Tenda units, it would be hard to justify the price differential. TL;DR Value for money Adequate performance as per specs (night and day upgrade from router-based AC or AX system) OK app ISP likely the limiting factor for most users

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What should I do if prompted to upgrade the system?**
A: As a network electronic device, Tenda products receive periodic firmware upgrades. Please ensure the device remains powered on and connected to the internet during the upgrade process to avoid malfunction.

**Q: Can I use a different power adapter with the MX12?**
A: Use only the original Tenda power adapter or a third-party adapter with 12V/1.5A specifications. Using an incompatible adapter may cause insufficient power supply, leading to frequent device restarts.

I have used Tenda Wifi Mesh before (MW3) and it was good (Coverage was not the greatest, Ran off Wireless backbone, sometimes loss of connectivity and drop outs). I Have setup this one on a Wired backbone so all nodes communicate through a master node. But, it is frustrating and also means you have to have cabled your home. The instructions from Tenda are lacking and could be clearer , especially for setting up wired backbone network so you retain 1GB between nodes. You can't just connect these into your network from my understanding and expect that if they are plugged into your router that it will work. I Had to put a switch in between (Router to master node --> Master node to switch --> Ports to slave nodes run off the switch). Would have been far easier if I could of just plugged these directly into the router ports without having to put a hop in between as it means all my network now runs through the tenda wifi master. Other wise so far the coverage is far superior to the MW3, it is much faster and for the last couple of weeks has bee solid without any dropouts. If the documentation was better, it had a web interface to connect to the first node for configuration and not rely on the app, I would have given it 5 stars, This really lets down the product. But you pay for what you get. If you want all the bells and whistles, pay the premium and go to another brand that offers more features and options. But if you just want stable wifi to cover your home (We have 5000sq/m to cover) and this does a great job of it.
