Vinyl Styl 12 Inch Anti Static Cork Turntable Mat - Less Vibration - No Slip

I had several packs of 12" squares of DynaMat I bought for super cheap at a garage sale years ago. I was just thinking a recently about getting a cork mat for my SL1200, but didn't want to add more height to my stock mat. I bought this thin cork mat from Vinyl Sytl, which also has a recess for the label in center, and stuck it onto a sheet of DynaMat. Then, using a new blade in my razor knife, carefully trimmed around the edge of the cork, then punched a matching hole in the DynaMat for the spindle. It weighs about the same as the stock Technics rubber mat, but is a bit thinner, which exposes more of the spindle so I can use my record clamp even with thicker 180g records. It lays flat, looks sano, and seems to tighten the sound just a bit as well as holding less static too. So far, I think it is a winner.

A nice affordable mat

This mat is perfect and exactly what I needed. It has a recessed center for the record label on one side and was the same thickness as the original felt mat that it replaced. I haven't noticed any static and it does seem to dampen any vibration. It comes in a package that is about the size of a 12" LP and is in an anti-static sleeve that can be used for a record with a paper sleeve.

I mainly bought this item because it was advertised as being 2mm thick (when most other cork mats are 3mm+). I don't necessarily see this as a huge problem, but I did verify with digital calipers and it came in at closer to 2.5mm thick. This does the job: felt was sticking to records (static electricity). Yes, I've had a record stick to this cork mat (because it's so thin) but it hasn't happened a lot and was much easier to deal with than the felt mat.

Completely eliminated the static and the records play much better. There is much less popping.

I used to have a a felt but kept attracting to much dust and hair. When ahead and upgraded and was a big improvement!

It’s great, anti static and anti slip. Cork is a must have for when you use your elderly records.

It was good for a while, but now when i stop my turntable the record just spins on it. Very thin, and doesn't really stop static either, I've used anti-static cleaner before using this and they still maintained static on the cork mat. Not much of a difference from my previous felt mat.

Das Klangbild gewinnt an Präzision und Instrumente zeichnen sich deutlicher voneinander ab. Bei der räumlichen Tiefenstaffelung habe ich keine Unterschiede heraushören können. Allgemein wird es sicherlich am gesamten Musiksystem liegen, ob kleine Unterschiede heraushörbar sind oder auch nicht sind. An meiner Anlage stellt sich ein kleiner Klanggewinn heraus. Gefällt mir.

Un bonito corcho que deja mucha estática, nada más....igual que el fieltro...quieren el mejor cojín para tornamesa anti estático?....compren el de hule. Fin.

Questo cork mat fa il suo lavoro. Ha migliorato sensibilmente il suono. Non ha annullato l'accumulo statico ma ne ha ridotto l'entità. Adesso uso il tappetino originale in feltro come copertura che rimuovo prima di porre il disco, in quanto non é piú in produzione la cover in plexiglass per il mio giradischi.

Produit super, très bien emballé etc. Livraison limace, mais c'était indiqué donc sans surprise. Je recommande en particulier pour les plateaux en MDF. A+.

Great value compared to some of the more pricier cork mats out there. An improvement on my previous felt mat, seems to grip to the platter quite well so my records don't slip. There's a definite damping effect and I think the bass is a bit more prominent. The packaging is great, I was able to recycle it and get an inner sleeve and outer sleeve from it. All in all a small price to pay for a decent upgrade.
