Love this mat for playing mahjong. The tiles slide easily and the design is so pretty without being distracting or too busy. Lightweight and easy to roll up to store. Only downside was how it was packaged, folded instead of rolled so there were creases where the folds were. They are gradually laying down but would so much better if the would roll it up in a tube instead.

Mat came folded in box. Wrinkles will not go away. Tried all sorts of tricks....still have fold wrinkles .... would not buy

Blue.*** Limited Edition ***This mat is advertised as a limited edition. Not sure what that means as I was not aware that there's a fan base collecting these things. Perhaps "Limited Production" is a better term for this limited quantity game table topper.For those that have a mahjong table, this will probably not be necessary. But for those like me who just play casually who don't have one, this is a nice to have. This game mat is made of neoprene making it smooth and spongy to the touch. The backside of the mat is rubberized giving it excellent traction to just about any surface making it slip resistant. The perimeter of the mat is surged to prevent fraying of any kind and last but not least, the top of this mat is printed with the four Chinese direction characters of North, East, South, West to support the game of mahjong. You will notice almost immediately that the directions appear to be printed incorrectly (MIC Stuff right?). But this was done intentionally. In the game of Mahjong, the directions are the same as anywhere in the world (N, E, S, W.); however, when counting, you count in a counter-clockwise direction and gameplay is in a clockwise direction.This limited edition table topper game mat doesn't come with a storage bat or portable case of any kind, so you'll need to provide your own or store it in the same non-retail packaging box it came it like I'll be doing. The folding will cause creases, so if you plan on playing cards, my advise to you is that you pull this out in advance and set it as taut as you can the night before to give it a chance to get the wrinkles out for game time. If you're using it for a tiled or board game, there's no need as they won't be flung around when dealing.The only notable I have is about neoprene itself. While it's water-resistant, soft, and smooth, neoprene isn't stain resistant. So be careful, especially with color liquids (juices, wines, coffee, tea, and even water!) Any spillage will result in a "battle scar" for the mat.Overall, it's still a great mat. As advertised, it can be use to top any surface to provide a smooth and high friction surface ideal for card, tile, and board games. Whether it be Mahjong, Poker, Dominos, or Monopoly, this table topper mat will get the job done.

I was worried when I got this that it would be a pain to store. Often times, neoprene fabric that has been folded can get creased.But this mat came out of the box and was ready to lay flat quickly. There was minimal off-gassing (a little, but not bad), and it was ready to play with in short order. I can fold it back up and put it back in the original box to store it, and it bounces back each time.I love the blue color. I don't use it for Mahjongg (just for other boardgames), but the design on it is unobtrusive, and doesn't make it hard to see any of the bits and bobs used for my games.UPDATE:Someone pointed out to me yesterday that the directions on the mat are mixed up, so that no matter what they will never orient the right direction. East is counter-clockwise from North. I don't know enough about mahjong to know if that will cause any kind of problem, but I'm taking a star off for such a flagrant printing error.
