eYotto 16inch Real Moving Gears Wall Clock, 40cmI hung this eYotto clock in my living room, and the moving gears catch everyone's attention and often become a conversation starter. The slightly silent operation is a plus, especially during movie nights when we need a quiet atmosphere. The vintage look with Roman numerals enhances the room's overall aesthetic, giving it a timeless appeal from afar. It does need 5 x AA batteries, but that's mentioned in the product details, so I knew what to expect. It's mainly made of plastic, which I think is preferable to metal as it is lightweight and won't stress the wall when it's hung. Recommendable!

The eYotto 16inch Real Moving Gears Wall Clock looks good on any wall of the house or flat.To make the most out of the clock, five AA batteries are required (not supplied). There are three battery compartments. The first battery compartment is in the middle of the clock back and works the hands. This takes one AA battery. So, if the push comes to shove, only one battery would suffice as this is all that's required to work the hands.There are two more battery compartments, one either side of the battery compartment that operates the hands. These both take two batteries (four in total) and these batteries operate the gear movement. So, if the user would also like to operate the gear movement as well as the hands, these extra batteries are required.The gear movement does make a slight noise, but it's not intrusive and after a while it goes unnoticed.The video attached to this review shows the clock in full action. The loud ticking noise in the video doesn't come from this clock, but another one I have in the room. This clock doesn't tick, but the gear movement sound can be heard on the video if you listen carefully.The clock so far has kept perfect time, so no issues there. Very happy with it.

That's a lot.The middle of the the clock and gears are made of metal, slightly distressed metal which looks ok.The outer part with numbers is sadly plastic (with some distress). And it looks plastic which put me off, especially with the £45 price.Another thing you need to be aware of - it is loud! Meaning the gears working are fairly loud.I hang it in my hallway as there's no way I'd put anywhere near where I usually spend time - too distracting.It does look nice in pictures and from afar but on a closer inspection I think the price cannot be justified.You can remove the four side batteries to stop the gears turning but that was the appeal of this clock.In the clip you can listen to the gears working.Nice but overpriced for what it is.

This looks quite cool - sort of steam punk look I guess.You need to be very careful handling it as the hands are exposed at the front.It is mostly made from plastic.The clockwork mechanism is not related to the time keeping of the clock - it is just a gimmick. It also needs 4 x AA batteries and it is not silent - in fact the noise can be quite intrusive when you want to read for example. Perhaps best suited to a busy room like a kitchen where there is already a lot of background noise (eg from fridges etc).There is a light sensor which is meant to stop the gears at night but I am not sure this will shut off until the room is fully dark. Of course you don't need to have the gears on at all - it still looks good. There is no manual override so you would need to remove the batteries for this.Overall happy to recommend.

Zahnrad-plingpling braucht 4x AA, uff!

Die Uhr ist soweit ok...optisch wie auf den Bildern. Komplett aus Kunststoff. Für den Preis inkl. Rabattaktion auch ok....die Uhr macht was sie soll.Das Geräusch des Laufwerk's der Zahnräder nervt allerdings schon sehr. Batterien raus, dann stehen sie zwar still...aber das Geräusch ist dann weg.
