Why would I choose this one from my Harley and not the universal handlebar style? Wouldn’t the universal give you more options on where it goes?

It's not that it gives you more position options, it more that it's a really clean and sturdy design that makes the mount look more like a factory OEM part. It's designed to mount on the 2 bolts that hold the brake/clutch lever on. It mounts the phone in a perfect location and it still allows for use of all the stock handlebar buttons. Enjoy
