Pretty Tough Bladder
One gallon's a LOT of water, it weighs over 8 lbs. So the fact this thing is really light makes a big difference to me. It's light but tough, I hiked a real dry stretch with next water over 11 miles, I had2 one liter water bottles on me and this thing half full in my pack (with unfiltered spring water, I have the Mini, and when I ran out of water I filled the one liter bottles via the Mini) I was a little concerned about it sitting on the very top of my pack with everything else under and it sloshing around all day while I hiked, I was afraid if it leaked and got my sleeping bag wet (my bag was in a trash bag, which was with my clothes in a pack liner bag so it would've been okay anyway) But the Sawyer bag didn't leak at all. You do have to keep track of bottle caps though when you get water, the cap on the little end that goes on the Mini (or Squeeze) is the exact size of a bottle cap for a Smart one liter bottle (but the Smart caps are sort of clearn the Sawyer cap is white) Anyway, it's also perfect for when you reach a shelter, and go to the spring, one person will have plenty of water for the night and for breakfast and if you fill your other bottles while you're down at the spring, next morning you won't have to worry about going after water before you set off. You could do all this too if you had the Platypus gravity thing, but you know that connection on the Platy that sort of looks "up"? I mean where the hose hooks onto the Platy bag....I'd worry about that sitting inside my pack, with this Sawyer bladder you don't have that so it's not a concern. To fill my bottles, I put the gallon bag on it's big cap side take of the little cap, screw on my Mini, put the little black hose that comes with the Mini onto the Mini, put my Smart bottle between my feet turn over the bag and put the black hose inside the Smart bottle and gently squeeze until my bottle's full, do the other one, and you've still got over a liter left for a Mountain House and a cup of coffee

Game Changer
This is absolutely the best thing I have used to carry water on canoe camping trips. I now own 3. It is robust, strong, light, easy to clean and well thought-out. Stand-out features? The smaller outlet fits a garden hose fitting. The larger one takes a Nalgene cap. Someone at Sawyer has their head on straight. I had to buy this because my ex thought the previous one was disposable and trashed it. I was so bummed; I got on Amazon and ordered another immediately. There is absolutely no plastic taste transferred to the water. I also just froze one (not entirely full) and used it to keep a cooler cold overnight. It did exactly that and provided me with ice cold drinking water all day. I know Sawyer would not recommend that, because water expands when it freezes, so I can't tell you that's a recommended use. But my water was cold and tasted great! I accept the risk, and if I overfill one and freeze it and it ruptures, I'll just get another. Game changer. Absolute game changer. I just ordered a little garden hose valve (plastic, the metal ones have lead in them) and I'll be hanging the bag from a tree and using the valve as a spout. I wish every company would think things through to this degree.

has its limitations
Mine arrived missing the larger cap. Contacted Sawyer support and they were quick to respond & send a replacement out ASAP. I do believe it is bizarre to market this as being able to support the weight being full of water and hang to filter, when there are many reviews showing the handle ripping off under such weight. If you work around this, it's exactly what you get - a lightweight and foldable, sealable bag with fittings for Sawyer filters.

Must have for an emergency bugpout
What can I say, well made highly efficient in what it is supposed to accomplish; purifying the water

Great For Any Backpacking or Canoe Trip!!!
I cannot express how excited I was when I found this product on Amazon! I had previously bought the Sawyer Products PointOne Squeeze Water Filter System for a trip to the Boundary Waters, and this product is the perfect compliment to that system. On our previous trip to the BWCA, before I bought this item, filling our water bottles was quite tedious. We had to take the canoe out on the lake, carefully fill up the small-mouthed quart bag that came with that system, and manually squeeze the water through the filter into our water bottles. It doesn't sound too bad until you realize we had to do this 3-4 times per day, for four people. It got really old, really fast. However, on a recent two-man trip with this 1-Gallon Reservoir, we filled it up once a day while out canoeing or fishing, then brought it into camp to set up a gravity filter system. It was great! The wide-mouth on the reservoir makes it really easy to fill. When hanging it, I recommend tying your rope around the mouth instead of the handle because it holds the bag at a better angle. If you have a BWCA trip upcoming, I completely recommend this reservoir with any Sawyer Water Filter System, you won't be disappointed!

light weight
bought two of these. They work great! You fill them up with dirty water and attach it to the filter and squeeze the bag. It's a lot easier to use than the pump filters.

Highly recommend it
Go big and get all the water in one trip! This Sawyer Two gallon Water bladder/tank saved me a half mile hike for water by the stream during my backpack trip. By AMC leader laughed at me and said you don't need that much water. Water is essential to a backpacking trip and I had enough to clean myself, fill my bottles for the next day hike and breakfast. I also had enough left over to share with my group. It fit the Sawyer water filtration system so I can transfer the dirty water into my water bottles. It was bulky to pack but the usefulness was worth it!

Good to go
Saved me from making a trip to the river everytime someone was thirsty. Just brought 2 gallons back at a time. Used it as a dirty water bag to make clean water for drinking and showers in the middle of nowhere. Held up great. My only gripe was that it doesn't hang properly. So if you hang it from the handle then water doesn't get to the outlet. I tied a rope around the larger opening rim and hung it that way for a gravity feed filter. It would be "nicer" if the handle was where the big lid is and if the opening was more like some other bags i've seen that clamp shut or whatever. The river was shallow so with a solid round lid it's a bit more difficult to "fill". But still great item.

It’s a strong bag
With the world descending into chaos, I would recommend getting a water filter and decent container. Get prepped and don’t get caught with your pants down

Reliable and easy to use.
Perfect.Used it for a 6 day backcountry trip with a group of 7 people. We used the Sawyer mini, the set up was flawless, so easy to filter lakewater. We hung it from a tree with a strap and a carabiner. We used the blue hose adaptor, 12" of hose, attached the Sawyer mini, propped our bottles up and let it flow. To pause the flow just cap the Sawyer mini. This bag was the perfect size for our group.I highly recommend this if you want an easy, reliable waterfiltration system for a group.

Magnífico
Excelente pieza para el camping. Fuí al rio por agua en esta bolsa para después filtrarla a otra igual y de ahí tomar. Funcionó de maravilla para el precio. Lo recomiendo.

Top cap is not included
The photo in the ad is very misleading. The big cap at the top is not included, even though it shows it is in the ad. I guess I have to pay a premium for their special cap to make this usable. Not impressed at all
