can be safely used in an enamel cast iron ?

Yes, you can. When using a stick blender you can avoid touching the bottom and sides of the pot if you like. However, the blade is protected by a shield, so you don't actually damage anything even if you do hit the pot. I make soup in my enamel cast iron with no problem or injury to the delicate enamel. The whisk attachment would hit the cast iron but all my whisk work is done is bowls where the whisk doesn't damage the stainless steel or hard plastic bowls. BTW, I really like this Braun corded stick blender. I had an All-Clad cordless blender and the battery stopped holding a charge after about 9 months of light use. The Braun is much more powerful, and the cord is not really a problem. Pureeing a soup or sauce only takes 2-3 minutes or less.

The top of this 2-cup food processor has gears. Can anyone tell me if the gearing is to speed it up or slow it down? And by how much?

Most likely it is to provide more torque for chopping resulting in a slower speed. You can compare the number of teeth on the gears to determine the speed ratio. Half the teeth on the drive gear = half the speed.

compare to Baxmix, please other than price...I have a Bamix but after 40 years need replacement. Advice?

The motor doesn't have a button, but kind of a sensor, which would always take time to turn green from red. And within 6 months, the duration to turn the machine on increased and in April 2020, the motor stopped working. And after handing it to Amazon Dubai on May 2, haven't yet received either the repaired workable entire unit nor refund, despite assurances from customer service at Amazon Dubai. But the helpbit service provider who looks into the repair of the units, their service and response is pathetic and not customer friendly at all. Although I have used the product for blending, chopping, mixing and was happy with the product overall, but the motor unit is not a great one

Smell of burning and smoke when used for more than 2 min.

This is a 2 pin model. Not suitable for UAE. Burning smell and smoke comes from it's handle when using it for more than 2 min. The smoke and burning smell was overwhelming when I tried using it for dough making, for which this particular model is made for. Not going to use again. Otherwise functions decent.

Toda una ayuda para cortar rapido y bien. Además tiene un accesorio para amasar que funciona muy bien, lo utilizamos para mezclar los ingredientes para un bizcocho y muy bien, rapido y limpio Muy recomendable, para colmo, Braun nos reenbolsó 35€ tras la compra, simplemente genial

Muy buena calidad de la unidad de potencia y de los accesorios, excelente desempeño. El manual es un pco raro... casi puros dibujos y muy poco texto, pero el uso es muy sencillo. Tiene la potencia necesaria para moler granos fácilmente. Lo probamos haciendo un pesto y funcionó excelente
