NETGEAR 8 Port Gigabit Switch (GS308E) | Managed Network Switch | Ethernet Splitter | Desktop or Wall Mount

​I ordered this switch specifically to fit into a custom 3D-printed mini rack project, and it fits beautifully. The build quality feels solid and looks highly professional. ​Out of the box, it worked perfectly on its default setup before I even touched the configuration page. Once I logged into the web interface, it became a fantastic tool for learning and tinkering. I haven't used every single feature yet, but being able to enable/disable ports, set labels, and configure VLANs is incredibly convenient. Additionally, the ability to limit speeds per port has been way more useful than I anticipated. ​It handles the full speed of my gigabit network flawlessly, and I’ve had zero issues with heat. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a reliable, manageable switch!

This managed switch is very easy to set up and use ,it has LEDs for each connection for link activity and speed (they can also be turned off if you don't need them) .It has a metal casing and can be wall or desk mounted.The fact that it's managed means it has a built in web interface where you can set routing rules for each port (to creatw Vlans) .Overall it's very well made and good value for the price ,

The switch quality is good it feels very robust and well made. It can be mounted on a wall if needed "comes with rubber pads and wall fixing screws" , functionality brilliant just plug and go, speed their is a increase but make sure that you eithernet cable is a cat 5 , compatbility nothing to say it works like I stated before just plug and go,light waight it's not heavy but it feels sturdy same waight as two blocks of butter. For me it's give me more functionality in regards to plugging in my devices and more devices in the future .

An excellent home network switch with easy to use controls and monitoring. If you have multiple Wi-Fi and ethernet devices in your household network, you will no doubt have come across a situation where something decides to flood your network and stop everything working. Known as a broadcast storm, a device can flood the network to the point where everything stops and it can be time consuming to work out which device is storming the network and then restart it. Netgear hardware is great for the home user, very good quality and easy to manage. And this great, cheap (for what it does) switch allows you to set limits on each of it's ports to that 'if' a device does have a meltdown and start broadcasting wildly, the switch will stop it in it's tracks. You simply look at the monitoring console to see which port and therefore spur of your network is flooding and it simplifies the process of restarting the 'bad actor'. Definitely worth upgrading to this type of switch compared to the basic, unmanaged switch.

This is actually a normal switch, with some extra's like 1. test of physical wires 2. Amount of messages received/send (traffic measurement) 3. Not enough QOS settings 4. Setup mirroring (eg to be used by Wireshark... not used it yet) 5. It has 8 ports, which is sufficient (seen the ones with lower amount of ports, eg GS105E... always one port short) 6. accessed by Netgear app on eg, phone or tablet

Installation & Einrichtung Die Installation kann jeder im Halbschlaf: • Kabel rein • Strom dran • Ports blinken • und alles läuft direkt sauber durch Über die Weboberfläche kann man ohne großes Fachwissen: • Ports priorisieren • Ports drosseln • Einstellungen verwalten • das Netzwerk schnell optimieren Sehr intuitiv, sehr logisch aufgebaut. Qualität & Leistung Der Switch ist wirklich hochwertig verarbeitet: • stabiles Gehäuse • saubere Portqualität • keine Hitzeprobleme • starke und stabile Performance Für ein Heimnetz, das zuverlässig und sauber strukturiert sein soll, ist das Ding absolut perfekt. Ich sag’s mal so: Früher habe ich beim Netzwerk basteln geschwitzt – jetzt läuft’s wie bei einem Barista: einmal drücken und alles funktioniert, nur ohne Milchschaum. 😄 Fazit Top Qualität, schnelle Inbetriebnahme, saubere Weboberfläche und starke Performance. Für mich ein hochwertiger Plug-and-Play-Switch, der hält, was er verspricht.
