Mini Drill Chuck 1/8" Shank For Micro Drill Bits

Item is perfectly good, but I cannot use it as I ordered the wrong size. I felt it was too small to return for credit.

This is a very well made chuck. This is a four jaw chuck so you'll need to take extra care when loading a bit as it will not automatically center the bit like a three jaw chuck does. I'm using this with a mini drill press. I just insert it into my mini drill press chuck just like a regular 1/8" drill bit and voila, instant conversion without modifying anything. It's best to load the bit into this chuck before inserting it into your drilling device. If you do it that way you can easily get the bits centered correctly. This little guy really rocks once you understand how to load it correctly. This is a steal at under $5.00 and I feel my money was well spent.

These chucks are obviously intended for Dremel-type rotary tools. These generally operate at high RPM. A chuck like this one is pretty much useless in such a tool because its runout makes it unbalanced and causes excessive vibration. The runout makes it impossible to start a hole with a micro drill in the chuck. Also a #61 drill won't go into the chuck although the spec is opening to 1 mm. Not recommended.

Closes on very small bits. A little hard to center the bits because of the straight sides.

Up till now when I wanted to make tiny holes I'd have to get out the trusty pin vise. This chuck with the 1/8 shank allows me to use those #80s in a rotary tool. Unfortunately, those tools do not spin as slow as a pin vise so I suspect I'll be going through a lot of #80 bits. That's OK. I'll just use this chuck in my pin vise!

Good product which is well built and seems very durable. For hand drilling using small or micro drill bits this will make things much easier for you. Much better than trying to use a pin vise. A great product and good buy. I am happy with my purchase.

This was far too tiny and seemed to only fit the super micro sized bits that you really would probably use.... I would not buy again

Works just fine for small drill bits on tight work.
