Excellent first impressions- and more!

So, how could this flimsy lightweight cord and toggle affair possibly control my lunging Staffordshire bull terrier? Not difficult to fit, we set off on our evening walk ( in the dark, so as to avoid other people/dogs, as is our custom - the irony is we then tend to meet only other poor souls who have a similair issue!)By the time I had crossed my patio and opened the garden gate, I noticed something different.A few half hearted pulls from doggie later I was grinning from ear to ear, and mouthing OMG!!! at my husband. We walked for 25 minutes with a totally different animal - compliant and relaxed beside us, despite my fizzing with hope and relief ( sooooo embarrassing have our walks been for the past 4 years)One interaction with other people was noticeably easier - our dog sat down and waited for them to pass. Good grief! This is only the first use, but I was so stunned I had to come and share. Will update in a while to see if this continues. The there was no chafing from the cord that goes under the legs, but I did make sure that the protective fleece sleeves were in the right position. Could imagine that if they slipped on a long walk it might aggravate after a while. This may well be the best £8 I have ever spent. Fingers crossed!Update: after a couple of weeks use this has proved very successful. No pulling, and even on the old lead the odd couple of times without the Mikki harness, he has been better behaved. One slight disadvantage is there is no control over him from the front, so pulling him away from sniffing trees is tricky, but this is only a minor issue and would still urge anybody considering to buy one!! Walks are now relxing and enjoyable- result!!

What is this Wizardry...?

I bought this harness, pretty much as I was getting to my wits end with my very energetic, <1 year old Springer Spaniel.I'd tried a number of different leads to try to prevent him from pulling, with different degrees of success. It was becoming a problem with making walks hard work, to the point that I was suffering pain in my shoulder from constantly trying to bring my dog 'to heal'!My wife had reached the point of not walking him anymore....it was causing issues suffice to say.So, I took a punt on this in desperate hope.Setting the collar and 'straps' is fairly intuitive, but the (multi-language) instructions do their job too.Putting the harness on my dog is a bit of a challenge, as soon as he knows he's going out he gets excitable. But once on, he settled well, after a spell of inquisitive biting at the various straps.I clipped on the matching lead, and headed out for an experimental walk.....from almost the first step (and I mean this truly), I knew I'd made the right choice. The lead works.....almost magically (dramatic as that may sound), as the dog tries to get ahead, the straps under his fore-legs "pull inwards" preventing him from running, pulling ahead.....once he got used to the idea, that was it.....a quiet, sedate, peaceful 5 mile walk with absolutely no pulling.... really! The walk was enjoyable again, no stress, no strain, just a happy dog, and an amazed owner.I would wholeheartedly recommend this harness (and lead), if you've reached the end of your tether (pun is intended!).Persevere with fitting this, and your walks will be transformed.I hope this helps you make your decision on the next lead/collar/harness you choose!

This seemed the bees knees

After 4 years of being dragged around by our labrador cross, with various training and innumerable harnesses etc, we came across this on Amazon. Our dog didn't even want to pull with this. There's no strain on the owner as the harness does the work, seemingly without strain on the dog either. It just holds the chest so it stops her wanting to pull. So now she just potters along like all the other dogs we pass on the way.Edit - have to report that, after a couple of weeks, she learned that she could still pull forward a bit, though not to previous extent. But the consequence was that, after a decent walk, it was rubbing under her arms and became raw, requiring vaseline. There was also a little scarring, so we had to rest it and use more normal stuff.

Worked but rubbed

Worked brilliantly on our rescue springer but unfortunately it rubbed under his front legs and caused it to be extremely sore. Have to swap between harnesses to prevent this which isn’t ideal. Our cocker spaniel isn’t bothered by the harness at all and still pulls like mad (although not as strong a pull as when on a normal harness) so that’s good in a way

No pull harness

Once you get hang of how to put it on it works very well. No pulling. Good harness for the money

It Works

Ok, my Boston still pulls a bit, but boy, it’s so much less. It is a pleasure to walk her now. Great product. I wholeheartedly recommend, and I have tried a lot of harnesses. This is the best!
