Solid, lightweight women's hiker
This is a nice little boot. I have trouble finding footwear - partly because I am very particular about what I want in a shoe, and partly because I have some pretty serious orthopedic issues that make it hard to find shoes that really work for me. These popped up in a "suggested" sidebar post in my social media one day, and I thought "why not? I like my Ariat cowboy boots, so I'll give them a try." That they were on a good sale was a bonus. Anyway, regardless of how I came to own them, let me tell you about the boots. 1) They are Ariat quality (and that's a good thing). Everything seems to be very well-made so far (I've only had them a few months). The sole is well-attached, the lace grommets are solid with no rough edges, and the overall construction is pleasing. 2) They look good. Let's face it, that's a factor. Some boots look like floppy clown shoes. Some look like they really wanted to be sneakers. These boots do neither. They are hiking boots with understated style. 3) They are lightweight and don't have any extra bulk. It seems like a lot of hikers are getting the "padded" treatment, leaving you with an odd, indescribable feeling... something between being wrapped in balloons and wearing a shoe box instead of an actual shoe. Not so with these Ariats. They are streamlined without being pointy, and close without being tight. 4) Along the same line, these Ariats seem to breathe much better than the last pair of "other" boots I purchased, even though those were labelled "breathable fabric" and these are honest leather. 5) If I had to make a complaint, it would be about the insole, which doesn't seem to offer much support. That said, they do offer much more support than most hikers I have tried lately, and a good deal of that problem is probably due to my freak-feet and their issues. It was a problem easily fixed by swapping out the insole for a custom orthotic with the arch support I need. There you have it. I would recommend these boots to anyone who needs a solid, dependable hiker. Yes, they are a little more expensive (so keep an eye out for sales), but they seem to be built to last.

Best hiking and riding boot
Really pleased with this purchase. As a full time equestrian, it is hard to find footwear the is comfortable, functional and has a decent life span. These little shoes check all the boxes and they are cute to add. Zero break in time, just unbox and go! Fit true to size, comfortable for all day wear. Hold up to weather elements well. Why did you pick this product vs others?: Best quality shoe ive found Slip resistance: Very little slip Boot quality: Great quality boot, good ankle support Weight: Light weight Value for money: Great value Support: Arch support, and ankle support Grip: Good grip!

Excellent Riding-Hiking Combo
Why did you pick this product vs others?: These boots are GOOD! Finally a well-designed riding boot that will fit under half chaps and that have enough grip to walk on semi-difficult terrain for a substantial amount of time. I took them straight out of the box to a week-long ride in New Zealand and they were comfortable and soft from the get go. I also rode on the mountains of Abruzzo, Italy on very difficult and extremely steep terrain that required to dismount and walk: thatโs when I wished they had a bit more grip but of course it wouldnโt be ideal for the stirrups. Overall itโs a really good compromise between walking grip and stirrup comfort/safety. They are holding up okay to a lot of use. I will buy them again for sure

Most comfortable footwear I've had in a long time
I'm really happy with this pair of boots. Always wanted to try Ariat boots, ever since I read about them decades ago in EQUUS magazine when they were first developed. The price always put me off. Now I wish I'd made the investment sooner. I am 61, working in retail for the last ten years, on my feet all day standing and walking on concrete floors. My feet were screaming at the end of the day. I need a wide toe box but I don't have a wide foot overall, so I look for roomy toes in a B width. I've tried lots of different shoes over the last ten years with varying results. Started with EARTH , loved them overall, but could never get the same style twice. Then something changed in their manufacturing and they just weren't the same, caused me pain, ended up returning the last few pair. Then Merrell was recommended to me. Their barefoot and walking shoes have been the best until recently. The last several pairs just weren't up to the standard I was used to from them. Comfort didn't last. So I started searching again, tried some of the memory foam slip ons that are so popular with my co workers. They are good for a week or two, then they aren't. So I was browsing again. Considering KEEN, since I've had them recommended to me. Then I saw this pair of Ariat boots, at about half price. I read all the reviews and the thing that stuck out for me was the years some owners mentioned they'd been wearing the same pair in comfort. Also, that the toe box was roomy. So I made the investment, and boy am I glad I did. I ordered my regular size. I'm a size 8, but for work shoes I've found an 8.5 is best, gives me some extra room for my feet to swell a bit late in the day. Some reviews said they run large, others said true to size. Since no one said they ran small I decided to go with my usual 8.5. They arrived in two days. They are beautifully made. They fit just right straight from the box. I have plenty of toe room. I've been wearing them daily for a week now with a standard cotton crew sock and couldn't be happier. They are lightweight, supportive and so comfortable. At the end of the day my feet are so much happier, so much better than they've been in years. My only problem... I had a small blister on the top/side of the ball of my foot where I have an almost bunion, I thought it was from the side of the boot rubbing. Turns out there's a wad of thread at a stitch point below the last hole of the lacing. The only spot on either boot like that. Put a moleskin patch over it and no more blister. I'm really happy with these boots and I do recommend them. They are well worth the investment.

Good fit but wouldnโt hike in them.
Purchased Dec 2024. Wanted to give them a good test before I left a review. First off I believe they are true to size. I wear a 7 and the 7 fit well. Comfortable out of the box. They will stretch out over time keep that in mind. The laces have no signs of wear after 4 months. Eyelets are strong. So far they have lasted a WI winter. Wear warm socks and toes were toasty. Walk through puddles and feet stayed dry. I did notice in colder temps the soles get harder and sound like plastic when walking. They do not have traction in snow or ice. You run the risk of slipping. I wouldnโt recommend wearing them on a rocky hikes any slick spots you might not have traction. The soles have very shallow lugs. I hope the reputation Ariat has lives up to wear.

The BEST hiking boot on the market!
Extremely well made hiking boots! I've worn this brand of boots for many years. There really is no break in period, they are comfortable when brand new out of the box. They offer warmth and I hae never found them to be stiff. I have issues with the arches of my feet. These are the only boots that offer my feet the support they need. I can walk for miles and my feet don't hurt. Every part of the boot is made of high quality material, long laces to keep the boot secure on your foot. I highly recommend this amazing brand of boots.

Stylish yet Comfortable Hiking Shoes
Bought these bad boys. I've been looking at them for years and had sold out just about everywhere except here through Amazon. Box came from Bootbarn (outer box) and then another box (inner box) that said Ariat where the shoes were in. Shoes were in GREAT condition and even better in person in my opinion. Tried them on immediately and it fit perfect. A bit bigger but that's how you want to get them when you are planning on using for hiking. It was comfortable but just wore them around the house since I got them today. Feets were instantly warm but not sure on the durability. Looks great and feels great so far! Update: Word them to hike with and they are so ultra comfortable and even went through the river with them and kept my feet dry (of course don't go past the shoe laces)!

Comfortable walking boot.
Had these boots for about 6 weeks now and they are great. Very comfortable. True to size. There is a lot of support and spring in the sole. Good for trekking as well as wearing as an everyday boot. Wore them in prickle country and they were great. Hoping they last for a while.
