Works Perfectly
For ultra light backpacking this is ideal for filling the Exped air mattress. Literally fills in 1 minute.

It saves you needing a lung transplant.
Does the job, still requires a bit of effort to use, but is much better than a collapsed lung.

What a wonderful pump
With This small pump in a small place into a bag we have a great pump to full AIR-MATS when needed..Thanks

but it's still better than blowing up the Exped mattress by mouth
This packs down small, is light and is very convenient. It does require a bit of effort to use, but it's still better than blowing up the Exped mattress by mouth!

Clever but simple piece of kit
This is a very clever little air pump that packs down small. Inflates an Exped sleeping mat in about a minute.

... have an Exped down airbed - which is truly excellent - so I wanted something speedier to use
I have an Exped down airbed - which is truly excellent - so I wanted something speedier to use, to inflate it, than the Schnozzel Pumpbag. This is not it. Effectively useless for a start-to-finish inflation. Its not even useful for that last few, 'hardening' up pumps. I would certainly not have bought this had I known before about its substantial limitations. The Schnozzel Pumpbag is, by comparison, quick and efficient. I'll stick to that. Anyone want an Exped mini pump?JS

Takes forever and needs (your own) adapter for Big Agnes , Thermorest. It works! Lightweight. Simple.
It works for Big Agnes Q core...IF you get about a one inch outside diameter or slightly less, thick walled, silicone tube. We made our own adapter. You need a tube that fits snugly over the nozzle of the mattress and the nozzle on the air pump.I wanted this for a "Pack and paddle" kayak camping trip. It does take FOREVER...like 500 compressions maybe more to blow up Big Agnes Q core 25 by 78 by 4 inch pad. Suggest you sit down, do it for a while, take a break. How this works....first open pump & leave 24 hours to get the pump filled with air. Then open the nozzle on the air mattress, attach the threaded tip on the long "snout" (use your own adapter tube for Big Agnes). Then push down with palm covering the hole in the middle, then allow it to expand again (move hand slightly) then cover and compress. I think of it as doing check compressions. Can't say I have the exact correct technique... OMG, I sit and compress on my thigh, move it up to my chest, whatever. BUT I highly suggest you get a comfortable seat..bring your lunch because this could take a while. Five stars because it works, it is simple and it is compact. I leave the adapter tube on the expad...and I only partially cover the filler on the big agnes Q core so I can more easily see if it is open or closed. I also tried with a Neo Rest Air and one other thermorest pad. MY tube (approx. 1 inch OD and .800 ID, was slightly large for the neo, but if I held it own it worked. It wasn't that bad. The black and green Thermorest has a slighter larger, .800 OD, valve. The tube slid all the way over and it was scary to get it off. I would advise taking acre and holding the tube so it doesn't go on all the way for easy extraction. I was afraid to over stress or break the tube. (I have a dislocated thumb so disconnecting tubes is not easy). My silicone tube snaps on the Exped mini pump. I will probably leave it attached to the exped. TO REPEAT, it may take as long as five full minutes to blow up any Thermorest or Big Agnes Q core mat. This is NOT fast. I did not even blow them up fully to test. This is for occasional use and for folks who don't want to mess with batteries. It will ONLY work if you are patient and make the blow up part of your routine, a social interaction, or whatever. And if you find you can blow this up faster, be a sweetie and tell us your secret. Thanks a million.

Excellent accessory for any inflatable sleeping pad!!!
Hi. After looking at Exped's video of this ingenious and lightweight backpacking air-mattress pump, and reading that is was compatible with other pads, such as Big Agnes, etc, I decided to order it up. Arrived quickly (I absolutely love Amazon Prime!!) and was hopeful it would also work with my ThermaRest NeoAir mattress. With stuff sack, patch kit and all accessories (including the adapter for pads other than Exped) the pump weighed in at just 2.6 oz. and packs very small - about the size of a small avocado. Once I pulled it out, it took about a few minutes for the foam in the pump to fully expand. Exped says to let it expand a full 24-hours before first use. Not sure why, but I didn't have the patience for that. The included adapter is nothing more than a short section of thick, somewhat flexible/stretchable tubing. It was a complete pain to attach to the nozzle of the pump, but once there, is very secure. The other end fit snugly but much more easily over the nozzle of my Neo Air and I proceeded to give it a go by pumping with my hands. The design is really intelligent: the Foam inside expands, pulling air into the chamber via the large opening in the center. Once you press down on the chamber, your hand covers the opening, allowing the air to be pumped into your air-mattress. Lift your hand, more air enters the chamber, press down, etc.. It is quick, fast and totally effective. Serious amounts of air can be fed into a mattress quickly and all I can say is WOW! It only took about a minute to inflate a size Large NeoAir (77 x 25 x 2.5). Seriously, folks. The NeoAir Large is a huge pad that I absolutely love, but always dread inflating at the end of a long day on the trail. The Exped pump's performance was stunning to me and makes me say shame to ThermaRest and Big Agnes for not being able (or even caring to, in ThermaRest's case) to come up with such a slick, effective and light-weight solution to pumping up their air-mattresses.Bottom line: No more endless blowing, feeling light-headed and dreading pumping up my NeoAir at camp. I have not had it in the field yet, so cannot comment on durability, but it does not look fragile in the least and with basic common-sense treatment and care, should last quite a while. All in all, I can highly recommend this excellent accessory. A++++ in my book.
