Each serving of 2 teaspoons of Sambucus for Kids Syrup contains 239 mg of a proprietary blend of Echinacea angustifolia (root) and Echinacea purpurea (flower) liquid extract; Propolis and 50 mg of Black Elder (Sambucus nigra L.) Extract (berry) standardized to BioActives® from 3.2 g of premium cultivar elderberries. Each serving of 2 Gummies contains 60 mg of Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) 2.2 mg of Zinc (as zinc citrate) and 50 mg of Black Elder (Sambucus nigra L.) Extract (berry)  standardized to BioActives® from 1.6 g of premium cultivar elderberries per gummy. The gummies do not contain Echinacea.

According to Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulation, any natural supplement that is NOT manufactured in the United States has to state the country of manufacture on the label. For example, our NatureWorks® Swedish Bitters™ product states "Manufactured in Germany" on the label. Therefore, any natural supplement that does not bear a country of manufacture statement on the label is a product that is manufactured in the United States.  Sambucus Gummies for Kids is manufactured in the United States.

Are these peanut free? And manufactured in a peanut free facility?

Accepted Answer

This product is peanut free. We do manufacture products that do contain coconuts and black walnuts in our facility. Nature’s Way products are produced in a state of the art facility, which is a class L pharmaceutical clean room (dust, humidity and temperature controlled). Security cards are needed to open any doors leading to manufacturing or quarantine areas. Raw materials and finished products are stored in a quarantine area that is locked and has limited access to approved personnel only. After each production run of product, all pieces of the manufacturing equipment are disassembled, properly cleaned, and sanitized to avoid any cross-contamination of product residue from one product to another. 
 
Although not mandatory for the nutritional supplement industry, Nature’s Way has implemented a cleaning validation program. This program involves testing the efficacy of the sanitation process as well as testing for product and cleaning residues on manufacturing equipment. This is another example of our philosophy of continuing to set and meet the highest production standards, even before required to by law.
