I would like to address the recurring complaint about these scarves.Everyone complaining that the material is too thin/weave too loose etc are completely missing the point.I have had several over the years, and have used them as a scarf, towel, sunshade, small knapsack and draught excluder. Perfect when camping to wrap around you when you nip to the shower block, and just plain look good whoever you are. They are supremely comfortable, and I often find mine pretty much lives round my neck. Once I put it on it tends to stay on all day. Plus it means I have something to quickly pull up over my face if I want to avoid the evils from the Karens of the world.It is supposed to be thin and open weave.It is a 15 square foot piece of fabric . If the material was any thicker, or more finely woven, it would be too restrictive, bulky and generally uncomfortable.The whole idea is to use various tying techniques to suit your purpose, (Many, many YouTube videos are out there with detailed instructions for the various methods) with the open weave and multiple layers acting to trap air and insulate you.I bought the black and white two pack. The black one is super black, and the white one is more the traditional looking one (think Yasser Arafat) Upon reciept, I took the time to hand wash in tepid water a few times in the bathroom sink using half a teaspoon of washing powder, rinsed then hung on a radiator to dry, which takes about 15 mins. I don’t use conditioner as it affects the absorption and wicking.The fabric handled washing very well, it dried quickly and without any distortion.In terms of quality, these are good, edges are well finished, with nicely sewn in discreet tags. The tassel knots are even and tied properly and the weight of the fabric is about equal to a genuine Hirbawi (claimed 210g for a 47”x47” vs 190g for the 43”x43” Free Soldier one)The genuine Hirbawi scarf is a little larger (47” vs 43”) but i find this one more than adequate, and i think any any more fabric would be too bulky. (For me anyway)I am happy with these, they exceed my quality expectations (better than my previous scarves) which is difficult to do. So i would happily recommend this brand, and I will be buying more in other colours.********UPDATE******2 months later, having worn one through the peak of winter, attending roadside breakdowns through the night, in sub zero temperatures, and heavy rain. I can honestly say they have been brilliant. I tend to wear the black one for work, and the white/black with my casual wear while not working or indulging in my photography.They are a perfect size for versatility, without excess bulk, and are holding up to being washed twice a week or so (I pop them into one of those 25p re-useable produce bags you can get in Aldi - they are a tie top mesh bag and so far, no tassels have been damaged as a result of a standard 40 degree wash and the dye stopped running a long time ago) The material is now incredibly soft and actually thicker feeling and more flexible so it drapes around your neck so much more naturally. Just like terry towelling it takes a few wear/wash cycles to become the perfect shemagh.Im confident that this brand has the long term quality I’ve been looking for and I’m ordering another set in different colours.

The scarf I received is completely warped and out of shape. The product is quoted as being 110x110cm - A square.. as you can see in my picture, it's definitely doesn't resemble a normal square. Due to this abnormal shape I'm not able to fold the scarf into a nice triangle and it doesn't look good when being worn. I will contact the seller to see what they have to say about this faulty product, hopefully it's just a one off mistake and not common qc issues from this company. I'll update this review if the company attempts to resolve this issue.

I expect that this would be ideal protection against heat loss around the neck and against sunburn and sandstorm particles (also around the same body area) during cold desert nights and hot desert days. However these situations have not yet arisen in Stansted Mountfitchet so it would not be helpful to make recommendations in this respect.I thought that, should the need arise, the scarf would be useful as a mask, to show others that I am taking precautions against spreading coronavirus (just in case I use public transport). I would not advise wearing it in this way if you go into a bank.

Very poor quality, not the same as you see online. The seller also has not provided any information on free returns. You need to pay for this return at £10.00 from the UK to France. Do make these consideration before pruchasing this product. The cost of the item is £22.00, is it really worthwhile sending the items back at £10.00. Good luckk wth your purchase...

I bought this, along with some bandanas, as an alternative to a face mask.I found it easy to tie as a face mask and I could breathe easily, so was better for me than a mask. It is really warm, in fact too warm in the summer, but I'm looking forward to wearing it in winter.Looks good too...

Absolutely love it. Have worn several time and had really nice comments about it. Haven't washed it (just keep putting it on the line to air) as love the texture. Cool to wear in comparison to lots of scarves. Should it go limp after washing - it is so reasonably price I would replace it. Am really tempted to buy other colours too! If you like the look of it - BUY!

I've had several over the last thirty years or so and this is the best. I't the biggest and the material it is made from feels thicker. It's early days, but it looks and feels like it's going to last.Recomended.

This is a nice inexpensive example of this middle eastern scarf The lightweight cotton is surprisingly warm in cooler weather and is comfortable to wear
