Solidly built, very well made package.
FIrst, the Tape-writer arrives in a nice heavy duty plastic carrying, protective case. I was worried about where I was going to store this, but since it has it's own case it fits easily on my tool shelf. Inside of the case is the Tape-writer, an instruction manual that appears to be clear and to the point. There is also two character wheels. One is for normal letters and numbers, the second is for reverse image. Finally there is a roll of Aluminum ribbon, and a roll of stainless steel ribbon. I was impressed with this package as I was only expecting the get the tape-writer and nothing else. The tape-writer itself is very solid feeling, made of 95% metal and a very grippy rubber handle on the cutting arm. This is my first metal tape-writer, having used the cheap plastic Dymo versions for years. I was hesitant at the price, but now having it in my hands I believe it was worth the money. Seems like it is built for the long haul.

Works Great, Kind Of Expensive
I hesitated buying this because of the price, but it does an excellent job and seems extremely durable.PROS:Mostly metal, except for the letter wheels. Seems like this could last more than a generation.Come with two wheels, one for reversing the lettering so you can read from the concave impression side.Comes with starter tape, steel and aluminum. The two punch options, hole or loops, are also useful.CONS:Really expensive. Seems like market collusion, because I found no real price competition. Also, I was disappointed by the adhesive on the aluminum tape. I'll need to ad a dab of glue if I want it to stay in electrical boxes under all weather conditions.BOTTOMLINE:Well made labeler. Expensive. Adhesive tape needs improving.

One of the best steel labeling
I recently purchased this product with steel labeling and I can say that the labeling was well-made, visible from 2 m distance , and durable. It was easy to read and lasted for a long time. I was pleased with the way the labeling turned out.

TERRIFIC and Just Right !!!!
Perfect for my needs. I moved to the country and other plant labels don't seem to hold up to the elements. I do wish the dial could backspace, if you passed the letter by mistake. You have to dial all the way round, but it's not an issue. The metal tape is quite thin, so be careful not to cut yourself on the edge. If the metal was any thicker, it would be impossible to press. The tapewriter would be difficult for someone with arthritis in their hands. This tapewriter works great. Hopefully, DYMO does not discontinue the metal tape. It makes professional looking plant labels.

Great labeler around the farm
I’ve used this across all kinds of projects on the farm such as labeling irrigation lines and valves that get wet and sit in the sun, rain, and dirt. Such a great unit. I especially love the ability to pop in some cable tie and rivet/nail/screw holes, which makes attachment easy and durable.

Used to make labels for outdoor plants
Labels were easy to make. Need to focus on making each label to avoid spelling errors. Advance to hide the last letter when done. But trim the previous label when it's final letter is visible. Used wire and ferrules to make loops after punching a hole on each label with the built in hole punch.

Good Product When Used
Got this for the guy in our warehouse to label machine parts. When I tested it, it worked fine. After 4 months, the lump in our warehouse still has not gotten around to using it. If and when he does, I will update this.

Half click to load the tape, FULL click to emboss.
This thing is AWESOME and a must have for the hobbyist or anyone with any an organizer of any kind. It makes great labels that are easy to read and you can either have the letters/number punched "in" or "out". It comes with a reverse wheel for this. It loads and is ready to use in 10 minutes out of the box. NOTE: for some reason it has all the letters, but the numbers there is no zero or one, you have to use capital i or the letter o. It still looks fine.
