Loved this story. So much I didn’t know about her life and so tragic but such a genius

While it may not have been the intent of this DVD on the life of Hedy Lamarr, the DVD shows the full cruelty of Hollywood. A liberated, beautiful , absolutely brilliant and empowered woman was exploited and destroyed by a system still working under the assumption that women were either saints or sluts. Even the US navy exploited her invention of jumping frequencies, using it also during the Cuba blockade, the basis of Blue Tooth, Wifi, GPS, without payment or recognition of her intellectual ownership. It was only long after the patent had expired that lip service was given to her invention by the Gvt and the media, including Forbes magazine. Tomcat

Really interesting documentry on a women who had an another amazing gift but was ignored due to who she was and basic sexism way back. had her inventive mind been taken note of who knows were we would be now but nikola tesla had a similar fate.

A lot has been written recently about Hedy Lamarr and her contribution to communication technology. This was a really interesting and thought provoking documentary. She was obviously one of the unsung pioneers of communication technology. It is such a shame that it has taken until recently for her efforts to be acknowledged. At least towards the end of her life, she began to receive some acclaim for her work.I also thought that it was very sad to see, as with many actresses of her generation, her efforts to remain looking beautiful and fighting the signs of ageing. I got the impression that she was very lonely towards the end of her life.As a fan of the golden age of Hollywood, I would highly recommend this film.

I remember as an impressionist child seeing Film pic annuals with this beautiful woman ..the later Blazing saddles reference as mel brooks lusted after her(hedley lamarr) ...then a documentary on her scientific knowledge for the USA army during wartime .when she created a system to avoid detection of radar which we all now have to thank her for has become the wifi principle....the DVD has some timeless clips from the black and white period -many husbands -stardom to failure...and a humourous charactor -wish I had known her...Granville D Clarke F.R.S.A.

It’s a wonderful and surprising documentary… very well done …

This documentary, portraying the two very different careers of a remarkable film star, was long overdue. It would have been interesting to hear if this movie queen took her stand as a Jew as well as an anti-Nazi in Hollywood.

Very well researched with lots of new information. More informative than many books I have read. A must see!!
