Q: How do you know how much resin to pour on a specific surface?

I pour water into my mold and then put it my resin measuring cup to see how much it needs, I choose the closest line on the cup, any extra resin I pour into my animal molds. I have made some really cute aminals with different colors

I would say with this pakage deal about 8-10 depending on how thick you make them.

Q: Why am I getting a film on my top coat of my resin pours?

It could be two things: Are you pouring your hardener and resin into 1 container, then stirring (correct way, and I stir for 5 minutes), or are you pouring into separate containers, stirring them, then combining, then stirring again (wrong way). Also, what are you covering your poured molds with? Also, I initially used cardboard boxes, bad idea. I now use regular plastic containers bottom (bottoms give more height and remember to always thoroughly wipe down the inside. I also use a heat gun, but only for bubbles.
