Timeless art and word, and for young children. The poem is familiar to the mature reader, but the illustrations make it so fresh and exciting. Highly recommend! The photo of from ONE of my favorite pages in the book. My grandsons loved it. I got mine used but very good, so the price point was a no brainer. Even full price, it's so worth every penny. Review: Perfect for winter evenings. - This book is a delightful interpretation of Robert Frost's iconic poem illustrated by Susan Jeffers. The cover has a parchment dust jacket that gives a frosty look to the cover art; very nice. Our protagonist is depicted as white-haired bearded man in plaid coat. We see him first harnessing his pony to the sleigh he will use watched by barnyard animals. Then some foxes witness him as he makes his way. It is not in black and white but the colors, like they tend to be in winter, are neutral and muted. The woods are detailed and complex. Each new line of the poem is accompanied by wonderful woodland animal portraits; our friend takes a moment to enjoy the silence and solitude and perhaps to make a snow angel. He makes a delivery in the woods to benefit the wildlife with his pony's full approval. Each page holds many surprises that will keep those inclined to search busy for quite some time. This is a volume that will be enjoyed over and over again. Most highly recommend.

Beautiful Poem, beautiful book and illustrations
I really love this poem and it so reminded me of my childhood and spending time in the snowy woods of northwestern Pennsylvania as a young man that I bought the book so I could read the poem to my granddaughter.

One of my favorite poems
I love this poem, Robert Frost is an author I try to read at least one poem of every year since I was thirteen. This is one of my favorites of his and the artwork is a beautiful added bonus to the familiar words. Perfect reading for the winter holidays. Five stars.

A Treasure
This is my go-to baby shower gift; Frost’s evocative poem is appreciated by children, and the illustrations (for my tastes) really capture the magic of that sacred moment. This was the first poem my son memorized. This beautiful little book opened the door for an appreciation for poetry that persists in his teenage years. Also, this book is a gift that the bigger kids in the family can enjoy and even read to the little ones.

This is a delightful book of a wonderful Robert Frost poem, beautifully illustrated by Susan Jeffers. Obviously intended for quite young children but I am a 70 year old woman, very interested in book illustration, and I love it!
